II. Cách phát âm đuôi es và s
1. Ở câu đầu, nhớ lấy các chữ cái đứng cuối (o,s,x,z,ch,sh) cộng với es đọc là /iz/, ngoại trừ từ goes.
2. các chữ cái đứng cuối được gạch chân ở mỗi từ (th,p,k,f,t) là các âm bật, gặp các danh từ có tận cũng là các chữ này, khi đọc đuôi s của chúng, ta đọc là /s/, còn tất cả các danh từ ko có tận cùng là các chữ này đc đọc là /z/.

==> /s/: khi s đứng sau các danh từ tận cùng bằng các âm vô thanh: /p/, /f/, /t/, /k/, /ө/.
E.g: cups, cats, books, beliefs, cloths,…
==> /z/: khi s đứng sau danh từ tận cùng bằng nguyên âm (a, e, i, o, u) và các phụ âm hữu thanh còn lại: /b/, /v/, /ð/, /d/, /g/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /ŋ/, /r/, /әu/, /ei/,…
E.g: toys, answers, lessons, legs, trees, knives, ends, dreams, hills, songs,…
