Last weekend, while cleaning my bedroom, I came across an album and found a photo of me on the first day coming to school – a day filled with special emotions. It was a sunny day with many white clouds. My mom was the person that accompanied me to school. On the way to school, i could see many other children around my age are going to school like me, some of them were crying a lot. Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at the school. Mom said goodbye to me and suddenly i bursted into tears.I felt lonely and scared because there was no one beside me then. Then a woman came by my side. She had a bright smile and a gentle face which reminded me of my mom. With a warm voice, she introduced to me that she was my teacher. I had thought that teacher was someone that would punish me when I made mistakes, but my first impression was a little different from my expectation, she was like a sweet angel. Later, she took me to my new class. There are a lot of new friends. Sitting at my place, looking around the classroom, I was impressed by the colourful and lovely space here. It was painted in bright colours with a large book shelf at the corner, filled with comics and toys, which were all well-organised. After that, the very first lesson at school got started. Beside learning to spell and write, I was also taught to sing, to draw pictures and was told a lot of interesting stories, which made me really excited. It was my first day studying at school, quite a long time ago but still gives me a sense of nostalgia for my carefree childhood.

It is certainly true that people in rural areas move to cities in order to achieve high standards of living, but indeed life in cities is more challenging and difficult when compared to villages. There are several reasons for this kind of problem and various measures could be taken by government to improve the situation.

Life in the cities has its drawbacks, for instance, the cost of living in cities is higher than in rural areas, especially housing is much more expensive. As a result, homelessness is becoming more common in cities. There are also more serious problem like traffic congestion and some people do not manage work that can lead to people to commit crime. Moreover, there is a lack of sense of community in big cities, people do not even know their neighbors. Life in cities can be stressful and individuals do not have much time for themselves and their families, as a result the gap between family members is on the increase.

To overcome the increasing troublesome life in cities, the government should start some active measures. Firstly, one key to cities work better is good planning. Planners need to transform cities to make them beneficial for all citizens. Cities need green transport and green spaces; they need to be energy efficient and pedestrian friendly, with housing and jobs to attract people to come to live there. Secondly, the authority should make stricter laws to reduce traffic such as allowing ownership of only car per family and increasing the price of the car and petrol. And people would be encouraged to use public transport rather than driving. Finally, the initiatives could solve the housing problem by building high-rise apartment or by expanding cities.

In conclusion, it seems to me that there are various reasons for the problem in cities life that we are facing now and steps need to taken to tackle this problem.

Cities are often seen as places of opportunity, but there are also some major drawbacks of living in a large metropolis. In my opinion, governments could do much more to improve city life for the average inhabitant.

The main problem for anyone who hopes to migrate to a large city is that the cost of living is likely to be much higher than it is in a small town or village. Inhabitants of cities have to pay higher prices for housing, transport, and even food. Another issue is that urban areas tend to suffer from social problems such as high crime and poverty rates in comparison with rural areas. Furthermore, the air quality in cities is often poor, due to pollution from traffic, and the streets and public transport systems are usually overcrowded. As a result, city life can be unhealthy and stressful.

However, there are various steps that governments could take to tackle these problems. Firstly, they could invest money in the building of affordable or social housing to reduce the cost of living. Secondly, politicians have the power to ban vehicles from city centres and promote the use of cleaner public transport, which would help to reduce both air pollution and traffic congestion. In London, for example, the introduction of a congestion charge for drivers has helped to curb the traffic problem. A third option would be to develop provincial towns and rural areas, by moving industry and jobs to those regions, in order to reduce the pressure on major cities.

In conclusion, governments could certainly implement a range of measures to enhance the quality of life for all city residents.

Dear Stephen,

I know your country is very far from mine - Vietnam. But if you have a chance, I want to come and visit it - a very beautiful country.

I will show you my village first, its name is Sky Garden. Listening to the name can make you know what there is in my village. Each house in Sky Garden has an own garden, it's probably a banana garden, an apple garden, a flower garden and so on. My village also has a paddy field, it seems be a very huge yellow rug. And if you feel hot, you can go with me to the Red River and enjoy the cool winds.

I really want you to visit my village and my country. I hope you will have time for that.

Write to me as soon as you receive this letter.

Reguars,

Doi ve co ban la buon... cuoi!!!

Friendship plays an important role in our lives and in the fact that it seems to be impossible to live without friends. In my opinion, there are three basic qualities that lay the firm foundation for friendship.Firstly, friendship is considered to be mutual help. A good friend is always ready to give us a hand in any situations. A friend in need is a friend indeed. We shouldn't be too deliberate in helping. Secondly, mutual confidence. Friends must feel safe when telling each other the most secrets. Obviously, liars and talkative people can never have good friends. Thirdly, talking about true friendship, I can't help mentioning the faithfulness and sharing. A true friend is the one who will cheer to our happiness and share our sorrows in adversity. In short, the value of friendship is that gives us a source of happiness and comforts our sufferings and a true friendship will be forever although we are rich or poor.

Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. At Tet, spring fairs are organized, streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are crowded with people shopping for Tet. At home, every is tidied, special food is cooked, offerings of food, fresh water, flowers and betel are made on the family altar with burning joss- sticks scenting the air. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year
