Gọi số xe lúc đầu của đội là x (xe) (x là số tự nhiên)
=> Số tấn dự kiến mà mỗi xe phải chở là: \(\dfrac{120}{x}\) (tấn)
Ta có phương trình:
\(\left(x+5\right)\left(\dfrac{120}{x}-2\right)=120\\ \Leftrightarrow120+\dfrac{600}{x}-2x-10=120\\ \Leftrightarrow2x+10-\dfrac{600}{x}=0\\ \Leftrightarrow2x^2+10x-600=0\\ \Leftrightarrow x^2+5x-300=0\\ \Leftrightarrow\left(x^2+20x\right)-\left(15x+300\right)=0\\ \Leftrightarrow\left(x+20\right)\left(x-15\right)=0\)
=> x = 15 vì x > 0. Vậy lúc đầu đội có 15 xe
