Are you looking for a cheap, clean, effective source of power that doesn’t cause pollution or waste natural resources? Look no further than solar energy from our sun. At present, most of our electricity comes from the use of coal and gas, oil or nuclear power. This power could be provided by the sun. One percent of the solar energy that reaches the earth is enough to provide power for the total population. Many countries have already used solar energy. Solar panels are placed on the roofs of our house and the Sun’s energy is used to heat water. The energy can be stored for a number of days, so on cloudy days you can use solar energy, too. Sweden has an advanced solar energy program. There, all buildings will be heated by solar energy and cars will use solar energy instead of gas by the year 2015

19.Does solar energy cause pollution?

a.     Yes, it does.

b.    No, it doesn’t.

c.     No. Solar energy causes pollution

d.    Yes. Solar energy causes pollution

20.How much solar energy is enough for the world’s population?

a)    Two percent of the solar energy.

b)    One- third of the solar energy.

c)    One– fifth  of the solar energy.

d)    One percent of the solar energy.

21.Where are solar panels installed?

a)    They are placed in the garden of the house.

b)    They are placed on the branches of the tall trees behind the house

c)    They are placed on the floor of the house

d)    They are placed on the roofs of the house

22.How can we use solar energy on cloudy days?

a)    The energy can’t be stored for a number of days

b)    The energy can be stored for a number of days

c)    Solar energy can only use on the sunny days.

d)    The Sun’s energy is used to heat water.

23.When will cars use solar power instead of gas in Sweden ?

a)    by the year 2050

b)    by the year 2055

c)    by the year 2015

d)    by the year 2035

Are you looking for a cheap, clean, effective source of power that doesn’t cause pollution or waste natural resources? Look no further than solar energy from our sun (đáp án câu hỏi 1). At present, most of our electricity comes from the use of coal and gas, oil or nuclear power. This power could be provided by the sun. One percent of the solar energy => Một số phần trăm từ năng lượng mặt trời ( đáp án câu hỏi 2)| that reaches the earth is enough to provide power for the total population. Many countries have already used solar energy. Solar panels are placed on the roofs of our house => tấm pin năng lượng mặt trời được đặt ở trên các nóc nhà (đáp án câu hỏi 3)and the Sun’s energy is used to heat water. The energy can be stored for a number of days=>Năng lượng có thể lưu trữ trong 1 vài ngày (đáp án câu hỏi 4), so on cloudy days you can use solar energy, too. Sweden has an advanced solar energy program. There, all buildings will be heated by solar energy and cars will use solar energy instead of gas by the year 2015=> năng lượng mặt trời sẽ thay thế = ga vào năm 2015 (đáp án câu hỏi cuối)

Read the passage and check (ü) whether the following statements are true (T) or false (F).

Energy makes change; it does things for us. It moves cars along the road and boats over the water. It bakes a cake in the oven and keeps ice frozen in the freezer. It plays our favourite songs on the radio and lights our homes. Energy makes our bodies grow and allows our minds to think. Scientists define energy as the ability to do work. People have learned how to change energy from one from one form to another so that we can do work more easily and live more comfortably.

All forms of energy are stored in different ways, in the energy sources that we use every day. These sources are divided into two groups – renewable and nonrenewable. Renewable energy source is an energy source that can be replenished in a short period of time. Nonrenewable energy source is an energy source that we are using up and cannot recreate in a short period of time.

Renewable energy sources include solar energy, which comes from the Sun and can be turned into electricity and heat. Wind, geothermal energy from inside the Earth, biomass from plants, and hydropower and ocean energy from water are also renewable energy sources.

However, we get most of our energy from nonrenewable energy sources, which include the fossil fuels – oil, natural gas, and coal. They’re called fossil fuels because they were formed over millions and millions of years by the action of heat from the Earth’s core and pressure from rock and soil on the remains of dead plants and animals. Another nonrenewable energy source is the element uranium, whose atoms we split (through a process called nuclear fission) to create heat and ultimately electricity.

Question: Wind, biomass, hydropower and ocean energy also renewable energy sources and oil, natural gas, coal and the element uranium are nonrenewable energy sources.

A. True

B. False

Are you looking for a cheap, clean, effective source of power that doesn't cause pollution or waste natural resources? Look no further than solar energy from our sun. At present, most of our electricity comes from the use of coal, gas, oil, or nuclear power. This power could be provided by the sun. One percent of the solar energy that reaches the Earth is enough to provide power for the total population.

Many countries are already using solar energy. Solar panels are placed on the roof of a house and the Sun energy is used to heat water. The energy can be stored for a number of days, so on cloudy days you can use energy too.

Sweden has an advanced solar energy program. There, all buildings will be heated by solar energy and car will use solar power instead of gas by the year 2015.
