= 2(1 - 2x) - 18 = 0
= 2 - 4x - 18 = 0
= -16 - 4x = 0
= -4x = 16
= x = \(\dfrac{16}{-4}=-4\)
b) 2(x + 1)2 -(x - 3)(x + 3) - (x - 4)2 = 0
= 2 (x2 + 2x + 1) - (x2 - 9) - (x2 - 8x + 16) = 0
= 2x2 + 4x + 2 - x2 + 9 - x2 + 8x - 16 = 0
= 12x - 5 = 0
= 12x = 5
= x = \(\dfrac{5}{12}\)
c) (x - 5)2 - x(x - 4) = 9
= x2 - 10x + 25 - x2 + 4x - 9 = 0
= -6x + 16 = 0
= -6x = -16

d) (x - 5)2 + (x - 4)(1 - x)
