\(\sin ^4a-\cos ^4a+1=(\sin ^2a-\cos ^2a)(\sin ^2a+\cos^2a)+1\)

\(=(\sin ^2a-\cos ^2a).1+1=\sin ^2a-\cos ^2a+\sin ^2a+\cos ^2a\)

\(=2\sin ^2a\)

b) \(\sin ^2a+2\cos ^2a-1=(\sin ^2a+\cos^2a)+\cos ^2a-1\)

\(=1+\cos ^2a-1=\cos ^2a\)

\(\Rightarrow \frac{\sin ^2a+2\cos ^2a-1}{\cot ^2a}=\frac{\cos ^2a}{\cot ^2a}=\frac{\cos ^2a}{\frac{\cos ^2a}{\sin ^2a}}=\sin ^2a\)

c)

\(\frac{1-\sin ^2a\cos ^2a}{\cos ^2a}-\cos ^2a=\frac{1}{\cos ^2a}-\sin ^2a-\cos ^2a\)
