My parents’ hometown is Long An, but I was born and raised up in Ho Chi Minh City. People usually call it Saigon, and it is the biggest city of Vietnam. It has a lot of fascinating buildings and constructions since it is a modern and developing city. What I love about Saigon is that all the new and old things are perfectly harmonized. Behind the skyscrapers are the small alleys which contain a slower lifestyle and traditional values. My friends and I have a lot of places to go in our free time such as Nguyen Hue walking street, Tao Dan Park, Dam Sen Water Park, Suoi Tien theme park, and many other places which tourists usually visit. Besides the view, it can be said that Saigon is one of the food heaven that people should not miss when they come to Vietnam. We can find almost all kind of Vietnamese cuisine here, and we can enjoy featuring foods on floating restaurants on Saigon River. I love Saigon a lot, because both the people and the city itself are nice to me and whoever wants to visit it.

Ở đây chúng ta có thể tìm thấy hầu hết mọi loại ẩm thực Việt Nam, và chúng ta có thể thưởng thức những món ăn đặc trưng trên các nhà hàng nổi trên sông Sài Gòn. Tôi yêu nơi này rất nhiều, bởi vì cả con người và thành phố rất tốt với tôi và những người muốn đến đây.
I was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, or it is also known as Saigon. Saigon is the largest city in Vietnam with an extremely huge amount of residents, so almost every street and corner in the center of the city is always bustling. Saigon is famous for its skyscrapers and crowded malls. People love to do shopping, so every weekend the shopping malls are always full of shoppers. The life-style here is very fast and hurried, but people try to spend their free time in the evenings hanging around the streets. Saigon at night is very beautiful, people love to gather in the coffee shops or sit in river banks that go along the streets. My friends and I usually hang out in the evening, and we would to find as many different places to eat as possible. Along with the beauty, Saigon is also famous for delicious fool, and it is felt that the street food is usually better than one in big restaurants. There are so many things left to say about this lovely city, and we can only see the rest of it by exploring it ourselves.

I have a big family which gives me everything that I need. My parents have two children, and we also live with our grandparents. Both of my parents have to work very hard to support this family, so they rarely have time to play with us. I am now a grown up boy, so I take the responsibility to take care of my little sister and grandparents when my parents are not home. My father is a manager of a Sell Apartment, and my mother works at the bank. They both have medium height and black hair, and they are very hard - working employees. They usually leave early in the morning without having breakfast at home, and my grandmother is the one who cooks for me and my sister. Both of them are just 75 and very healthy, they have grey hair and some wrinkles as well as freckles on their faces. They spend their free time to play with my sister whenever I go to school. I travel to school by bike, and I am a pretty good student. When I am home, I help doing the house chores, help my grandmother preparing the meals, and look after the baby. My hobbies are playing sports, but I only go out and play with my friends when both of my parents are at home at the weekends. My favorite time of the day is dinner time, because the whole family will all gather after a long day staying out. We spend that little time to talk about our days and share funny stories. Although my parents do not have much time for us, I still love and be thankful to have such a great family that.

Quê hương em mới tươi đẹp làm sao! Những con đường làng quanh co trải dài típ tắp. Hai bên đường là những lũy tre xanh rì rào trong gió. Con đường đất trải dài đến vô tận. Bốn mùa xuân, hạ, thu, đông, quê hương em đều có những vẻ đẹp rất riêng. Xuân về quê em như thay áo mới, màu sắc của chồi non của hoa màu bung nở rực rỡ làm lên một vùng đất trời tràn ngập sức sống. Những ngày hè, tiếng ve kêu râm ran trên vòm cây xanh lá, khi ấy, cây đa nơi đầu đình là nơi đông người tập trung nhất. Nào trẻ con, người già, tiếng cười đùa rôm rả vang vọng khắp không gian làng quê, những bóng cây xanh như mở ra một khoảng trời xanh mát mới, không còn cái nóng như thiêu đốt của nắng hạ mà chỉ còn những cơn gió, những câu chuyện trò của trẻ nhỏ, người già. Chiều chiều, trên những cánh đồng lúa vàng là những đàn cò bay lả bay la. Những cơn gió hè mang theo hương đồng cỏ nội bay đi khắp con đường làng. Hương lúa mới quyện vào mùi đất đai như một dấu ấn tuyệt vời nhất mà em chẳng thể nào quên nơi quê hương mình. Thu sang, lá vàng lại làm cho bức tranh quê thêm bao phần thơ mộng, khung cảnh ấy gợi lên những rung động, những hoài niệm thân quen. Đông về, không gian yên lặng và chỉ còn tiếng rít của những cơn gió buốt lạnh. Cây cối khi ấy gầy gò và yếu ớt nhưng vùng đất ấy vẫn âm thầm cố gắng nuôi trong mình dòng chảy tràn trề nhựa sống để rồi khi xuân sang lại thêm phần rực rỡ, sáng tươi. Quê hương! Hai tiếng gọi ấy thật thân thương và gần gũi. Mảnh đất ven bờ sông Hồng được nhận biết bao phù sa, làm lên vùng quê trù phú và màu mỡ, đẹp đẽ đến như vậy. Ôi, em yêu biết mấy quê hương tươi đẹp của mình!
