1, My school:
I study at To Van Hoang Secondary school. It is very clean and beautiful. Teachers and students are very innocent, fun, friendly and hospitable. There are seven hundred students and seventy-five teachers. There are 25 classrooms in my school. Fifteen rooms are for classes, two rooms are for teachers and a special room for the Head Teacher. The teachers of my school are very good. They are high qualified teachers. They teach us with pleasure. They love us like their own children. There is a big playground in front of my school. At recess, we often play games and talk together there. I love my school very much.

In my free time, I usually listen to music, play sports and read books. After learning hours, these activities help me to relax. And playing sports is the activity I enjoy the most. Because of the long distance from my house to the stadium, I can not go there and often play sports in my back yard. I usually play sports with my best friends and my younger brother. However, sometimes, only me and my friends play because my brother is busy doing homework. I like to play sport because it is really a healthy activity which helps me to be strong.

My favorite subject is English. The first reason I like it is that it is a core subject which is vital and essential in my career path. I try to learn this international language well so that I can communicate with foreigners and find a good job in the future. Futhermore, learning English well can help me read books or magazines in English. Through reading things in English, I can be exposed to various cultures and customs. Besides that, my English teacher is a dedicated person who can engage me in her lessons and bring the passion for me. I always remember last summer when our volunteer team had been to a poor countryside. That place even lacked of clean water and electricity, while in many other places people are wasting them. After a day of resting, we started to clean up the old school together, attended in the project of reconstructing a number of local bridges which funded by donors. We lived in some of the houses of the local people, and we spent time doing house chores, playing, and eating together. Although their lives are lacking of materials, their hearts are full of love and kindness. We helped them with our strength and the ebullient spirit of youth, and in return they took care of us so we could be safe and happy while we were away from home. After a month and a half, we successfully restored an old school and one bridge, and we built one more small new bridge. These things really helped children at that place had a better educational environment, and people had an easier road to go to work. Local people were very excited with those new constructions, and we promised to come back next summer to bring better things. When the volunteer trip ended, my parents were very happy when I came back home safely. I felt so proud of myself because I could prove that I was a mature person by helping other people. Summer is coming soon, and I cannot wait to be on my next volunteer trip together with my friends.
