Today, it is not easy to choose a career. Hundreds of students pass various examinations every year and compete with one another for positions in the various professions which are not so many as there are applicants. I would, however, like to choose teaching as my career.
Teaching is an interesting career for several reasons. As a teacher I can learn many things, especially if I teach to an udder-secondaryschool. If I teach History or English, for example, I have to read many books to make my teaching lessons more interesting to my pupils. Thus, I can acquire more knowledge of the subjects that I teach than what I can learn from the class text books. It is indeed afact that a teacher learns a lot from the class text books; but that is hardly enough to make the teacher’s lessons interesting to pupils.
Topic 2: write a letter to your friends about your party last weekend
Dear John,
I'm very happy when I received your letter. I'm writing this letter to tell you about the party I went last week. That was my best friend birthday party.
Huong is my close friend. She turned 25 recently and her parents held a birthday party for her. I was one of those invited. The party began at about three in the afternoon. There were about twenty guests gathered in her house. We were all dressed in our best clothes. Everyone, especially Huong was very happy. We gave our presents to her and she happily opened them. It must really be exciting to receive all those presents. After that her mother served us soft drinks and delicious titbits. We then played some games like "Musical Chairs" and "Treasure Hunt". The winners were given prizes. At about four-thirty her father brought out the birthday cake. It was beautifully decorated with pink and white ice cream. 25 colorful candles sat in the middle of the cake. We all sang "Happy Birthday" to Huong after which she blew out the candles and cut the cake. Everyone clapped out hands eagerly. We helped ourselves to slices of the delicious cake. Then we continued our games.
Finally at about six in the evening the party came to an end. We were all tired but happy. I helped Huong and her parent clean up the mess we made. After that I walked home with a very good feeling .

Dear Helen,
I’m just writing to let you know that I shifted to a new house two weeks ago.
I had been awaiting promotion for a long time and now I have been promoted as a branch manager in the newly opened branch of my company. The new office is a long way away from the house where I lived before. The long commute made me very tired and so I decided to move to a new place.
I’m now living in a fully furnished brand new house. It has a large living room, a modular kitchen, two cosy bedrooms and especially a spacious parking area. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden, which I love the most. The balcony is very attractive and it is the place where I relax after a long busy day. The rent is quite high; nevertheless, I am comfortable living here because of the easy access to office and other amenities.
So, when are we going to meet up? If you have time next weekend please come with your family. We will have lunch and spend some quality time together. You can also take a look at my new house.

After leaving school, I would like to become an English teacher in the future because of two main reasons. Firstly, I love teaching. Teaching is one way of spreading knowledge to learners, which gives me a happy feeling. I can see my students strive, get success, and later make their contributions in different areas. In this way, it can also improve my presenting skill considerably and provide more relationships with not only native students but also international volunteers. Secondly, there are many opportunities for English teaching positions nowadays. Along with the development of our country, English is so highly appreciated that almost all jobs require certain amount of English ability. Teaching English is always welcomed everywhere, everywhen with attractive salary. In sum, my passion and good job prospects make English teacher my desired job

In the future, I want to be an interpreter, which has been my dream since I was a little girl. Being an interpreter is very exciting and there are some reasons for my choice. Firstly, I want to acquire more and more languages. During my childhood, I was impressed by the Japan’s cartoons. I spent along time watching and have troubles with it. I couldn’t understand what they conveyed because of the different speech between us. From that time forward, I determine myself and take account of learning English. The most frightening experience of my life happened 3 years ago. My parents used to go to work until 8 o'clock in the evening and I had to stay at home alone. It was a Sunday evening that someone intended to break into my house. I was having dinner and watching TV. I could not hear anything outside because I focused on an interesting TV program. Someone was trying to break the lock and open the door. Suddenly, I heard something strange and turned off the TV. I felt scared and run into my room. I called my grandfather who lived near my house. He went to my house immediately. When he came, that person had gone. My grandfather called me and I opened the door. He and I waited for my parents. At 8 o'clock, my parents came home. My grandfather told everything to them and asked them not to leave me alone. After that event, I did not dare to stay home alone.
