Last Saturday Emma went to ..visit… her Aunt Jane. “It’s Mum’s birthday tomorrow,” said Emma, “and I want to give her some (1) and a cake, but I’m not very good
at cooking. Can you make a cake for me, please?”
“I’m sorry,” said Aunt Jane, “I don’t have much time today. I have to (2) after the

“I’ll do that,” said Emma. “Will you make the cake for me, please?” “Ok,” said Jane.
So Emma played with the baby, and when he was sleeping she washed the car and cut the grass. Then the baby (3) up and she played with him again.

Donna: I know. It made her really angry. It wasn't until the 1960s that the government made employers pay their workers equally.
Emma: Were women allowed to own property back then?
Donna: Yes, but it wasn't easy. Banks wouldn't let unmarried women borrow money.
Emma: Really?
Donna: Yes. Banks would lend money to married women, but the husband still owned the property.
