For Vietnamese, Lunar New year is the most important festival of a year because it is the beginning of a year. If we have a good beginning throughout first three days of year, we will have much luck during that year. Therefore, the activity of welcoming Tet festival is celebrated carefully in order to avoid unfortunate mistakes. And according to each area of the country, Vietnamese have different ways. Although I am a Vietnamese, I don’t know how families in other parts of my country welcome Tet holiday. My family, an age –old Southern family, usually celebrates Tet as this following way. Tet holiday begins on twenty-ninth of December. We start on decorating our house and preparing food for tet holiday. My father and I are responsible for tidying up our house. Quickly, the house becomes splendid with a very beautiful apricot blossom full of sweet-smelling blooming flowers in the middle of living room. On the branches, we also put some lovely greeting cards which make the tree more beautiful. When we finish our duties, my mother and sister also finish cooking. The kitchen is now full of delicious dishes whose smell float into the air. We usually keep many kinds of food in our kitchen in New Year festival. At lunch, we prepare a big feast to donate the ancestors. At the New Year‘s Eve, our family usually gather together. We watch television or play some traditional games. Until the clock strikes twelve tones to signal the moment of a new year, we donate the ancestors again. Then, my sister and I say “happy new year” to my parents and get lucky money from them. Next, we have a big meal to welcome New Year. Although all of us say nothing about our senses at that time, I know every body is cheerful and hopes for a lucky year. In three Tet days, we are usually well-dress to visit our relatives, teachers. We bring offerings to sacrifice ancestral altars, congratulate the olds on advancing in years and say New Year’s greetings to the others. Although we all are quite tired in these days, we are really joyful. Thanks to Tet holiday, we become closer and closer. Tet festival is very significant for Vietnamese, and these are all of my Tet holiday. I hope every year we have three great Tet days so that we have an extremely smooth year.

As Tet approaches, I'm buzzing with excitement about the upcoming holiday! Before Tet, I'll be busy cleaning and decorating the house, getting everything ready for the festivities. On the eve of Tet, I plan to gather with close friends for a cozy dinner, welcoming the new year together.
During Tet, on the 1st day, I'll visit my grandparents with my family, enjoying a traditional meal and catching up. On the 2nd day, a group of friends and I are planning a day trip to the countryside, exploring and savoring the festive atmosphere. Hi Alice, we haven't seen each other for long, since the day you had to go back home because of some family affairs. You must have had a lot of fun with Tet and the days when we were still together. Me too, Tet here is so fun, it makes me always feel like you are by your side. Tet here is very bustling, everyone is busy shopping for Tet, preparing a full Tet holiday. Which is apricot, kumquat, peach, the scent of Tet. Do you still remember the folk games of Vietnam, certainly you do, but the game is fun for the children from the New Year to the spring. Oh my childhood memories with you are flooded back, but the years together, happy moments together. Really now I miss you so much, I want to see you so much. The time we meet will not be far away, someday. In the beginning of the new year, I wish you more and more beautiful, good at school, have many successes in life.

Dear LanHello Lan, it has been very busy since Christmas ended. How are you, I'm fine and I look forward to seeing you. Do you like Tet? Tet is the day when the family reunites is the day the children return home. Me too, I really like Tet. What do you usually do on Tet holiday, please tell me in the letter next time. Tet has a lot to do you think so, right. Before Tet, I still have to prepare a lot, but after Tet I feel really like it. On the first day of the year, I got lucky money from my parents and grandparents and then went to the restaurants and neighbors' homes. I thought I would have a ton of money, but it was taken away by her mother. But I'm not sad because I think my mom has raised me for a few years. In Tet I also ate a lot of dishes: banh chung, banh Tet, chicken… Eating too much made me bored. I know many festivals but the one I like the most is Tet. It is the most important festival in Vietnam. Tet is celebrated every year on January 1 of the lunar calendar. When Tet comes, we are 1 year old. Before Tet, family members will go to buy food, fruit, and flowers. And they also buy decorations and cherry blossom lines. People will decorate the house, and they will place the potted peach blossom tree in the right front position of the house. They also make banh chung, the traditional dish of our country. During Tet, everyone in the family will gather together and tell each other about the past years in order to enter a better New Year together. They will eat the same banh chung. After that, we will visit relatives and neighbors. And our children will receive lucky money. On New Year's Eve, everyone can watch the colorful fireworks in the sky together. I love Tet, every year I look forward to Tet, to see my loved ones again

Tet holiday is celebated on the first day of the Lunar New Year. Some weeks before the New Year, the Vietnamese clean their houses and paint the walls. New clothes are bought for the occasion. One or two days before the festival , people cook Banh Chung, which is the traditional cake, and other goodies.
On the New Year's Eve; the whole family gets together for a reunion dinner. Every member of family should be present during the dinner in which many different kinds of dishes are served.
On the New Year morning, the young members receive, the family pay their respects to the elders. In the return they of lucky money wrapped in red tiny envelops. Then people visit their neighbours, friends and relatives.

You know, it’s funny, for as long as we’ve known each other, we’ve spent very little time actually around each other. But I really wanted to tell you how much the time we’ve spent together has meant to me, and I also wanted to say thank you.
We don’t really think about it much, but the words “thank you” can accomplish so much and can convey more than one could possibly imagine.
Thank you for being one of the first people to be nice to me in elementary school. I think you saw the fear in my eyes when I showed up at a new school where most of you had kind of grown up around each other. You hung out with me on the playground and would always invite me to play games with you at recess.
Thank you for always being the same back then, no matter what. I sadly hit my popular peak in fifth grade, and even though we were in the same class we didn’t talk so much. That was my fault and I’m sorry.
While I was feeling the joy of being popular, you were being labeled as troublemaker — and worse, a lost cause — by the very adults that were supposed to be guiding us, teaching us, nurturing us. No child should be made to feel that way.

3. As for me I spent a week in Turkey. I took the plane in Paris
and flew for three and a half hours to Izmir. There a woman
was waiting for us to drive us by bus to Kusadasi (pronounced
kouchadaseu). She is a French woman who married a Turkish
man five years ago. She is from Lievin, in the North of France.
She confessed that her husband followed her to France but
he didn't get used to the weather. It was a bit too wet and
too cold for him. So, they went back to Turkey. He then
became the manager of a hotel (not the one we went to) and
she started working for a holidays group at the hotel where
we went.
We arrived in the afternoon at the hotel which is based very
close to the sea. How wonderful it is to have meals almost on
the beach, listening to the waves and looking at the sun
downing in the evening. We could have a glass, then go to the
beach and as soon as we were thirsty come back to the bar
and have another glass before swimming a little. It was very
comfortable. I loved it.
Concerning the site, it was very beautiful. The beach was in
front of us and on the right side, we had a view on the
mountains. We even took a boat to some little beaches on the
edge of these mountains. The water was like a warm bath.
And you'd say, what about Turkish people? They are really
nice. They don't speak a lot of French, but if you can speak English, I assure you you can spend good time with them. I
had the feeling that they didn't know what to do to please us.
I have never met so nice people. I advise you to go there,
really, you'll come back with so many souvenirs in your minds.
