Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. At Tet, spring fairs are organized, streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are crowded with people shopping for Tet. At home, every is tidied, special food is cooked,offerings of food, fresh water, flowers and betel are made on the family altar with burning joss- sks scenting the air. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year.
I live in Ho Chi Minh City, and Tet holiday in the city is very bustling occasion. Within a month before the Lunar New Year, the streets are very crowded, many people go out to do shopping and enjoy the holiday scenery. My parents are busy cleaning the house, and I am busy thinking about what to wear and where to go. Right after we have a break from school, my friends and I spend most of the time on Nguyen Hue Flower Street to take pictures. However, Nguyen Hue Street is not the only beautiful place, almost everywhere in the main streets are wonderful for people to have great pictures. They are beautifully decorated with bright lights, and the apricot blossom - the symbol of New Year's Day can be found everywhere. On New Year's Eve, my family and I watch fireworks from Sai Gon Bridge; we have to go there before nine o’clock to get a good spot. Early in the first morning of the year, we go to the pagoda to pray for peace and health, and then I accompany my parents to visit my grandparents and relatives. Tet is my favorite holiday because it is an occasion to enjoy the festive atmosphere, delicious food, and receive lucky money. I wish that Tet could last for a month.

Vào đêm giao thừa, tôi và gia đình đi xem pháo hoa ở cầu Sài Gòn, chũng tôi phải đến đó trước 9 giờ để có thể có được một vị trí đẹp. Sáng sớm ngày đầu tiên trong năm, chúng tôi đi chùa để cầu bình an và sức khỏe, sau đó tôi sẽ theo bố mẹ đi thăm ông bà và họ hàng. In addition to comics, it is also adapted into electronic games, music CDs as well as live action movies to meet the need of readers. The content revolves around the story of Kudo Shinichi, a intelligent student detective. However, during one case investigation, he was taken by members of the Black Organization to drink poison that immediately made his body shrink and since then, he took another nickname, Edogawa Conan, continuing the investigation to unmask this organization. He was sent to live in detective Mori’s house for a short time, helping him successfully investigate many cases. Reading each page of the book, we go from surprise to surprise by the attractive story situation and the talented intellectual speculation of the detective guy.
Doraemon is one of my favorite comics, written by Fujiko Fujio. This is a famous comic book, adapted into many diferent kinds such as animated films, plays and short stories. The main character is Doraemon cats from the 22nd century to help Nobita, the lubberly boy. His duty is to help Nobia overcome troubles by using magical decorations. In addition, Doraemon and his team including Nobita, Xeko, Chaien and Xuka also join in the adventuous journey to the new land that is exciting and also dangerous. Through the pages, we see a beautiful and pure friendship. The first time I read Doraemon was in the second grade, since then, the book has been with my childhood, creating beautiful memories.

My house is located in a small quiet alley. That’s a pretty pink house which consists of 6 rooms in totally: a living room, a kitchen, a toilet, a bathroom and two bedrooms. There are a white leather sofa, a television and a sideboard in the living room. After dinner, my father will turn on the television, choose a great movie and we watch it happily. Next to the living room is the kitchen where is used for cooking and enjoying the meals. In the middle of the room is a dinner table which is made from wood. Three cookers, a refrigerator and all the necessary stuff for cooking is arranged carefully in the right corner of the room. In the left of the kitchen is a clean toilet. Beside the toilet is the bathroom which is equipped a shower and a bathtub. There are only two rooms upstairs that is my parents’ room and my private room. I’ve decorated my bedroom with adorable wallpaper and many lovely stuffed animals. A single bed is placed next to the window so that I can stargaze before falling asleep. In the opposite of the bed are my desk and my bookshelf that contains many kinds of book. There are also an old television and a piano in my bedroom. I especially love the piano because that was the gift from dad in my birthday. In every Christmas or Tet holiday, all member of my family ornament the house together and then gather in the kitchen to cooking. Although my house is not too big but to me that is the most beautiful house in the world.

During Christmas, people are more friendly and gentle with each other because they believe to have a happier life without sorrow. I enjoy decorating Christmas tree and walk around the streets looking at the buildings and the trees around the city such as in squares and parks, shops and offices. Especially, there is always a big tree at city’s center, in which people gather and pray together in Christmas night. All the city is decorated with color and lights; therefore, it is a chance for citizens go out, take many beautiful photos and transfer to each other. We take part in several interesting activities creating snowman, playing in snow, making homemade candy or cake, cleaning house. The snow is a symbol of Christmas. To me, it is a symbol of renewal and cleanliness of the upcoming event. Besides, the children enjoy receiving presents, which are put at the tree by Santa Clause. They believe he brings obedient kid joy, good health and hope for a new year. Actually, the gifts are prepared by parents or relatives in order to encourage them study and well behave with other. The tradition of giving presents originates from the old days and it becomes one of features of Christmas holiday. Christmas reinforces the belief of one’s soul and heals all sadness and dissatisfaction. In my opinion, it is essential to continue this holiday because of its beneficial role in culture of one country.
Of all the singers, I Vanh Leg most. His full name is Nguyen Viet Anh. He is a multi-talented boy from Hanoi Capital. He is very humorous, funny and friendly. Every day I have chance to watch different famous people shine and bring inspiration to others on TV; however, the one that inspires me the most is Taylor Swift. She is a typical example of a strong, intelligent and independent woman. She used to be a small girl who had been bullied throughout the school years. However, she overcame all the difficulties to become one of the most successful singer and composer of America. She challenges herself in different types of music, from Country, Ballad to Pop, and all of her songs carry deep meanings. Most people can find themselves in her lyrics and her melodies. Besides her singing career, she is also a businesswoman who has her own enterprises and brand names. She had tried so hard in her youth to achieve the things that I always dream of; therefore, she is a great symbol that I always look up. Taylor Swift is forever my beloved idol, and her effort is the goal for me to never quit trying.
On the fifth day of the first month of every year, the Go Dong Da festival begins to take place. The festival was held in Go Dong Da. Everyone went to see the crowd, everyone wanted to see the Quang Trung monument. The association started with a memorial activity in memory of the cloth-shirt hero Quang Trung Nguyen Hue. Hội bắt đầu bằng hoạt động tưởng nhớ tới anh hùng áo vải Quang Trung Nguyễn Huệ. Hội có những trò chơi như: chơi cờ, đánh đu, chọi gà… Khi hội kết thúc, em vẫn thấy nuối tiếc và nhớ tới vị anh hùng áo vải Nguyễn Huệ. Em sẽ học thật giỏi để phục vụ đất nước.
