Topic 1:Life skills for teens

Money may not be the most important thing in life, but it certainly is vital for a comfortable life. Education gives you the knowledge and some skills you need to become employable. But it may not give you the skills to manage your earnings and spending, save money, etc. In simple words, you need to make your teenagers financially literate. Every teen must know how to open a bank account, use the ATM,transfer money online and write a check.Save money to buy or invest in something, for emergencies.Knowing how to procure food or cook food is one of the primary life skills for teenagers.Buying groceries is important to cook. One of the important skills here is to be able to identify different ingredients and know where they are available.Among the critical things that teens should learn, as part of taking care of themselves, is to take care of their health.Knowledge of personal health and over-the-counter medications that can come in handy.Knowing when to go to the doctor.Taking proper care of self, through proper diet and environment, in the case of illnesses like common colds, fever or the flu.

From adults to teens to children, everyone has stress in everyday life. Adults have the stress of a job, stress caring for families, and stress paying bills. Children at a younger age also face stress when parent's fight, divorce, or are not capable to learn as rapidly as other kids. Teens also face a lot of stress. Teenagers often have a harder time dealing with stresses because they are at an age when it seems not appropriate, or not cool, to ask adults for help, emotions and hormones are out of control, and sometimes they just don't understand stress causes it. Sports, school, and parents are the three main causes for stress.
The first major cause for stress is school. Test taking, trying to achieve excellent grades, starting a new school, trying to fit in, those can cause stress at school, stress cannot be always terrible, some will cause pressure that will cause one to work harder. But mainly stress leads to headaches, lack of concentration, forgetfulness, or stomachaches. I understand this past couple weeks I have undertaken more stress than I ever have felt before. I had these school comp papers due, Seneys huge test coming up, and semester tests in general; this made me feel large amounts of stress. The further students find themselves in school, the extra stress they feel over trying to search out the perfect college and deciding what to do with their lives, I know next year college will only cause additional stress for myself and family dealing with financial aid. Again school is a major source for stress.
A second stress symptom are the sports. Winning or achieving my goal is the greatest accomplishment in the world, when students participate in school sports, feeling stress from coaches, teammates, and parents are common in sports. Coaches want solid work and constant dedication to that specific sport. This causes an enormous stress considering I participate in four sports wit.

Hope you learn well !! vuivuivui.

The problem with problems is that they don't come one at a time. They generally appear in clusters and sometimes they even have puppies. When one is taken care of, another pops up to take its place, and you wonder to yourself, "What did I do to deserve this?"

No, it isn't Karma-you aren't being punished-it's just life. Combine the economic woes that we can't seem to fix, issues that arise in any normal relationship, plus the unexpected upsets that besiege our day, and it's understandable that there will be times when your mood reaches a low point.

There's no quick fix or Pollyanna affirmation that's going to change things. The truth is that you have to trudge forward until you can make them change. Perhaps someone else can help, but chances are they can't take away your troubles.

A lot of people think that there's a magic bullet that could make it all better. Well, it can help you feel good when someone touches your heart, but on the other hand, if you are struggling with personal or professional problems, they can be a burden on a relationship—especially if you refuse to talk about it.

Not wanting to look bad in the eyes of the person you admire may keep you from sharing what's on your mind. Yet, if someone loves you, he or she will help you deal with your dilemmas. Talking about it can help shed light on how to get through a problem. That's also how therapy works.

You may find that brainstorming with another person or even a group will help you find new ideas to help you move forward. When you know someone has your back, that emotional support can make all the difference.

If you have been sitting on your stuff to the point where it's starting to hurt, it's time to let it out. How you choose to do it is up to you, but just keeping your pain inside will eventually lead to some kind of a meltdown.

Learning that it's okay to talk about our problems can feel a bit like a trip to the dentist. You know that the discomfort will stop once you get the tooth fixed, but you don't want to go though the process because it hurts too. And sometimes, with emotional issues, you may be embarrassed to share what's really going on for you. That's why it's so important to talk with someone who is comforting and nonjudgmental.

There will always be problems in our lives, but sometimes we don't have the capacity to handle them all by ourselves. Getting a 360-degree view is impossible when all you can see is what's going wrong. And talking with another person can give you perspective.

Just know that you can minimize your problems by discussing them with those you trust. Give your pain a voice, and let someone listen. You will be amazed at how much weight will be lifted off your shoulders.

Today I want to tell you my own problem: ''playing on the phone, relying on technology too much''.For me and today's teenagers, smartphones have become indispensable items. Cases of fighting with parents to use smartphones are happening more and more.
Early access to smartphones will cause vision loss and not promote their creativity. Even too much use can affect learning and overall development. I hope this problem will definitely be solved by myself and you.

1.Describe a place of interest in your hometown

=> I live in New York with my parents. There are a good number of interesting places to see and visit here. But the New York Public Library is more interesting to me than any other places.

I am a citizen of the USA by birth but my parents are not. They came here in search of living from Larissa in Greece during the 1980s. They have been living for around 36 years in this city. After my birth and I got matured enough, they took me to different interesting places to visit in the New York City, and these places are really interesting. But being an introvert, I disliked the crowds and the public library appeared to be more interesting to me than other places. The place is filled with books on numerous issues, magazines, documents and many other things. The classics available in the library were my favourite.

Going to the library is easier for me. In fact, this is not far away from my residence. The New York Public Library is only a 10-minute walk from my home. It remains open from 10 am to 8 pm, except the weekends. Usually, I go there in the evening and read books or novels until the library is closed. Besides, the library is accessible from the other parts of the city. The people who want to visit the library can reach here using several transportation modes. They can reach the library by taxi, metro or by their private cars. But the people who live nearby, like me, come here mostly on foot.

The New York Public Library is a great place to read. But the people who come here are not readers always. Some of them are researchers, while some others may be historians or musicians. Actually, the library is visited by a wide range of people. Basically, the library comes with the reading facilities. But there is also the scope to check the reference books, peep on the music directory or crosscheck any history. Besides, the reading rooms are well expanded and the readers have ample opportunities to use the books and references after their needs. But they have to be careful with the books. Silence among the readers while reading books is expected there.

Reading books may appear boring to many but it is very interesting to me. I love reading books. The books help us to know the unknown and unseen. The experiences of past thousand years have been preserved in books in words. So, when I read them, it appears that I am travelling through time! But every place is not suitable for reading and it requires a very special environment. Hence, I think a library is a nice place to read. At the same time, it is an interesting place as an enriched collection of books are available together. In fact, it is impossible for an individual to collect a part of the books of this library in his entire life. So, I find more interest in reading books in a calm place and the New York Public Library is a place I would recommend to a tourist.
