Bat Trang Porcelain Village is a traditional pottery-making village, which is located in the Northern of the Red River, Bat Trang town, Gia Lam district, Ha Noi. The pottery here is made of a special kind of clay – the white clay.
The craftsmen only use their hands to knead the clay into the shape of the bowl, flower vase, etc. Then, they draw lively pictures or patterns on the products and glaze them. After that, these kneaded-clays will be put into the kiln for heating.

That feeling was overwhelming all my soul when I was walking along Nguyen Du Street and enjoying the Milk flower. Why was it so beautiful here? In the early winter night, in slightly cold spread hoarfrost, sitting on the bank of Thien Quang Lake, whether at the other side, I still smelt its perfume. I walked along the street and dropped myself in a sweet smell of Milk flower, the wind blew my hair, and I felt so great.
Milk flower on the streets of Hanoi goes deeply inside the memories of Hanoi people and all visistors who have come to Hanoi. It also goes into the music, the poetry, movies. Those are some good ways to introduce Milk flower to everybody. For me, means of communication such as internet or TV are the best ways to introduce Milk flower for all over the world. It is simple when everyone looks at all wonderful pictures or images of Milk flower, they will want to come and enjoy it. In Japan, they have cherry blossom, in Netherlands, they have tulip…How can we know about it? That is all thanks to means of communication. We must let them know that in Hanoi, we have Milk flower. Therefore, the things we need to do now are we should have a website about Milk Flower with pictures, clips, songs, poetry in many languages (if we can)… or we can hold more activities which relate to Milk flower. We must have some more activities to advertise this kind of flower. That was what I think when I saw Milk flower for the first time.
I love Hanoi. I love the early cold winter nights with Milk flower’s smell. I hope Milk flowers will be grown more on Hanoi streets. Milk flower is a precious gift that nature gives to us, especially to Hanoi, our beloved capital.

As you know, live in the countryside is something that people in the city dream about. Why? Because there are many advantages to live in the countryside. First, you can enjoy peace and quietness. The air is fresh. There is less traffic so it's safe for children. The people here is thoughful, friendly and generous. The special thing that people like living in the countryside is the cost of living here ususlly cheaper so this is an idea place to raise the child. Second, the rural people living by farming and raising the cattle so the food is fresh, cheap and delicous. You can enjoy interesting competitions such as wrestling, blowing rice, ... It's very good Finally, you can remember your childhood. You can see many child plays the folk games, herd the buffaloes, fly kites,... in the glassland. When see the spectacle, everybody also feel happy and peaceful. Oh live in the countryside have many advantages but it's a few disadvantage. The roads are narrow and degrade. It's very hard to find the good job. But I like living in the country. If someone ask where I would rather live, My definite answer is peaceful and queit countryside. What about you?. I have had a close friend since I was at secondary school. Her name is Thuy, which means blue water and peace in Vietnamese. (Appearance) She is one head higher than me with a short black hair. There are many festivals in Vietnam but surely everyone knows, Tet is the most important festival. It is celebrated on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month. On Tet, everyone in the family will gather, eat and have fun together. Before Tet, people will go shopping, they buy flowers, decorations and food. In the evening, everyone will make banh chung, a traditional Vietnamese dish. On Tet, they will eat banh chung together and visit relatives together. And most especially, kids like us will receive lucky money. In the evening, we can watch colorful fireworks in the sky. I love Tet very much, every year, I look forward to Tet.

Many customs are practiced around Tet. Children often receive a red envelope containing money from their elders after giving them traditional Tet greetings. During Tet days people also visit relatives and friends to wish them all a happy new year. Local pagodas are popular spots as well, as people go there to wish for a better year to come for their families.
