áp dụng tính chất dãy tỉ số bằng nhau ta có
x/4=y/7=(y-x)/(7-4)=100/3
⇒x= 4 x 100/3=400/3 ; y = 7 x 100/3=700/3

ta có x/5 = y/6 ⇔ x/20=y/24
y/8 = z/7 ⇔ y/24=z/21
