Con sông Hồng chảy qua quê hương em. Dòng sông đẹp như một dải lụa đào vắt ngang lên tấm áo xanh mướt của đồng bằng Bắc Bộ. Nó đã gắn bó với tuổi thơ ấu của em, làm ấm lòng biết bao trái tim bé nhỏ. Ôi ! Con sông thân thương!

Xa xa, dáng nằm của con sông Hồng vẫn muôn đời đỏ nặng phù sa, thế đứng hiên ngang như rồng cuộn hổ ngồi ngàn năm hiện lên ấm màu hoài niệm. Có lẽ mặt sông thường đỏ thắm như màu thẹn thùng của màu môi thiếu nữ. Ánh bình minh vàng chan hoà trên mặt sông ấm áp. Những đám cỏ non còn ướt đẫm suơng đêm, ngơ ngác trong giấc mộng ngọt ngào . Từng đoàn thuyền giong buồm ra khơi, thả lưới đánh cá. Những tiếng hò, tiếng hát vang lên xáo động cả mặt sông. Trông kìa, các em bé té nước cho nhau cười như nắc nẻ. Chúng bơi lội, chúng lặn ngụp như những chú cá heo. Sông dịu dàng ôm chúng vào lòng như một người mẹ. Sông chảy giữa những bụi râu, bãi mía xanh ngắt. Tiếng sóng vỗ ì oạp vào bờ, như hát, như reo vui hco chúng em. Hai bên bờ, các cô các bà đem chăn màn ra giặt ra phơi, mồ hôi ướt đẫm tấm lưng gầy...

Ôi dòng sông ! Sông đẹp dịu dàng trong những ngày nắng đẹp, sông trắng xoá trong những cơn mưa bụi mùa hè. Sông đỏ ngầu, ầm ầm, tức giận chảy xiết mỗi khi nước lũ tràn về. Sông muốn cho chúng em cuộc sống yên bình.
Sông ơi ! Sông hãy đưa nc về nuôi sống cho những cánh đồng bốn mùa tươi tốt. Sông hãy đưa cá về nuôi sống những người dân hiền lành chất phác. Ôi dòng sông đã ôm ấp bao kỉ niệm, bao khát khao của những tâm hồn bé bỏng!
