Tet is a traditional holiday of Vietnam. It often begins in late-January and ends in early-February. With the meaning of seeing the old year off and welcoming the new year, Tet becomes a special occasion of reunion for Vietnamese families. At that time, all family members try to come back to their home and get together to make such preparations for Tet as buying new clothes and cleaning their house. A branch of apricot blossoms or a Kumquat tree is indispensable decoration for every family in these days. They seem like a fresh air to the house. We display a tray full of fruits and vases of flowers on the ancestral altar. Some typical Tet's food are sweets, coconut jam, fruit candies, melon seeds, stew pork with eggs, and especially sticky rice cake. Tet meals are usually bigger and more delicious than our daily ones. On Tet holiday, people have many recreational activities. Young persons take part in the traditional games such as: tug of war, cooking rice, cock fighting, watching lion dance. Many people visit relatives to wish a happy new year. Adults will give lucky money to children. Woman like going to pagoda to wish good things for their family. In my opinion, I like cozy and fresh Tet atmosphere. All family members gather and talk about resolutions for a happy new year. I can hang out with my friend and don't worry about anything. " Tet" holiday is always in Vietnamese's heart.

Vietnam is the country with many beautiful festivals. There are hundreds of festivals each year. Besides the Tet Holiday, the Mid-Autumn festival is one of the most famous festivals and it is a traditional celebration for Vietnamese children. The Mid-Autumn festival is held on the 15th day on the 8thlunar month (often in late September or early October) in the middle of autumn and it is celebrated for a whole day. On this day, the adults and the parents prepare many different foods - Moon cakes, candies, biscuits, jellies, and fruit, such as grapefruit, longan fruit, bananas, apples, mango, etc. Moon cakes are the specific cakes and are only on this festival. Moon cake, which is made from flavour, meat, egg, dried fruit, pumpkin’s seed, peanut, is so sweet and good tasting. Everyone sounds “How delicious Moon cakes are!” after tasting them and can’t say no with them. Moon cakes symbolise Luck, Happiness, Health and Wealth on the Mid-Autumn day. Besides that, the children are provided with many nice lanterns - star lanterns, flower lanterns and diverse funny masks such as clown mask, lion mask, prince or princess mask for the special performance in the evening of the full moon. Everywhere is fallen in the active and colourful air. The main point of the Mid-Autumn is that children use the beautiful lanterns, wear funny masks, perform fantastic lion dances, sing folklore songs in the house’s grounds or in the streets when the moon is rising. It is really an exciting show. The Mid-Autumn celebration is an opportunity for members of the family to visit together and share together everything in their year. The young generation express their gratitude to the old generation. The parents show their love for their children. Because the autumn is the time of the beginning of the new school year, so the adults and parents give gifts to the children. And the teenagers receive a lot of presents with many good luck wishes before the hard school time. The symbol PhD which is made from paper represents good wishes for success to pupils. For others, because the traditional time to have this festival is usually after harvesting the crops, it is as the congratulation for the full harvest. Nowadays, although some of the traditional toys have been replaced by modern toys, the meaning and the performance has been kept and developed. It is certain that the Mid-Autumn day is important and famous for Vietnamese people. Everyone wants to join in it. And it really is a good example of the traditional culture of the Vietnamese.

Mid-Autumn Festival is a famous festival of Vietnam. On this occasion, children are the main characters to sing, carry lanterns, watch lion dances and sit together to eat sweets and drink soft drinks. The Mid-Autumn Festival is also considered a non-horror version of Halloween, where children will have fun holding lanterns with fairy-tale characters and different cartoon characters. Sweets do not need to beg and say "Give candy or be teased", at the middle school festival, most children are prepared with candy to have fun and eat as much as they want. This is one of the oldest festivals from ancient times to now, I'm sure other people from abroad will also enjoy this festival.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Tet Trung Thu, is a joyous celebration in Vietnam. Held on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, usually in September, this vibrant festival revolves around family reunions and the admiration of the full moon. Streets come alive with colorful lanterns, and children carry handmade lanterns while parading through neighborhoods. Mooncakes, a traditional delicacy, are shared among family and friends. The festival holds deep cultural significance, emphasizing gratitude and unity. Traditional lion dances, folk performances, and the enchanting glow of lantern-lit nights create a magical atmosphere during this beloved Vietnamese celebration.

FESTIVAL

As you know, VietNam has lots of festival. Festivals in Vietnam offer visitors the best opportunity for getting close and personal with the myths, customs and fun-loving spirit of this proud nation. Despite undergoing modern developments, Vietnam is still a predominantly traditional country, with thousands of pagodas and shrines dedicated to Buddha as well as various deities and iconic figures. There are also plenty of cultural events that are only celebrated during certain times of the year (or years).

Lunar New Year, locally called Tet, is the biggest festival of the year with the whole country downing tools for family get-togethers. Principally a religious celebration, don’t expect too much of a wild party, but it’s still a fascinating time to visit Vietnam and you’ll certainly find locals lighting fireworks, visiting temples with their families, and the interesting sight of many flower stalls set up as giving flowers is customary during Tet.

Vietnamese people usually return to their families during Tet. Some return to worship at the family altar or visit the graves of their ancestors in their homeland. They also clean the graves of their family as a sign of respect. Although Tết is a national holiday among all Vietnamese, each region and religion has its own customs.

Tết in the three Vietnamese regions can be divided into three periods, known as Tất Niên (penultimate New Year's Eve), Giao Thừa (New Year's Eve), and Tân Niên (the New Year), representing the preparation before Tết, the eve of Tết, and the days of and following Tết, respectively.

Vietnamese people celebrate the Lunar New Year annually, which is based on a lunisolar calendar (calculating both the earth's movement around the sun and the moon around the earth). Tết is generally celebrated on the same day as Chinese New Year, except when the one-hour time difference between Vietnam and China results in new moon occurring on different days. It takes place from the first day of the first month of the Vietnamese calendar (around late January or early February) until at least the third day. Many Vietnamese prepare for Tết by cooking special holiday food and cleaning the house. These foods include bánh chưng, bánh dày, dried young bamboo soup (canh măng), giò, and sticky rice. Many customs are practices during Tết, such as visiting a person's house on the first day of the new year (xông nhà), ancestor worship, wishing New Year's greetings, giving lucky money to children and elderly people, and opening a shop.

Tết is also an occasion for pilgrims and family reunions. They start forgetting about the troubles of the past year and hope for a better upcoming year. They consider Tết to be the first day of spring, and the festival is often called Hội xuân (spring festival).

With me, Tet is an opportunity for me to express me gratefulness to my parents, grandparents and to help my mother cook traditional foods. I hope Tet will be a tradition of VietNamese people and won’t be ....................

FAVORITE FOOD

VietNamese cuisine is really abundant and I love it so much. It’s very hard to choose which is my favorite one. But, well, I’ll choose Pho. Because if we talk about VietNamese cuisine, we will think about Pho first, right?

The main ingredient of pho is noodles and broth with sliced beef or chicken. The extra ingredient are pepper, lemon, fish sauce, chili ... They are added depending on the taste of each person

The first time when I ate Pho is when I was 7 years old. I joined a writting contest and after the contest, my mother took me to a small foodstore, then I was attracted by Pho. I was a little bit suprised, because I heard lots of things about Pho but I haven’t taste it at all. Pho had a good impression with me.

When I was a student in primary school, I ate Pho twice a week, because my mother used to take me to the market with her, so I can eat it very often. But now, my family have another member, my little brother, and my school life is much busier so I just can eat Pho about twice a month.

To cook Pho, we need lots of things : vegetables, spices, beef ( or chicken )... and the cooking section is also really complex so I can’t cook it...

I’m so pride, because VietNam has a traditional dish like Pho and I hope, in the future, I can spread Pho and VietNamese culture to foreigners.

Teacher’s day is celebrated every year on the birth anniversary of a great person Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. He was highly dedicated towards the teaching profession. It is said that, once he was approached by some students and requested for celebrating his birthday on 5th of September. And he replied that instead of celebrating it my birthday only, you should celebrated it as a teachers day to pay honour to all teachers for their great works and contributions. Teachers are the real shapers of the future building blocks of the country means they shape up the students life who are ultimately the future of country.

Teachers are the nation-builders by building the future of citizens living in the country. But nobody was there in the society to think about teachers and their contributions. The whole credit goes to only one leader of India, President Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan who advised us to celebrate his birthday as teacher’s day. Since 1962, 5th of September is being observed as Teacher’s Day every year. Our teachers not only teach us about subjects, but they also improve our personality, confidence and skill level. They make us able to get over from any problem or difficulty all through the life.
