My best friend classmate is Hoa . The first reason why I like her most is her nice appearance. She has long black hair and beautiful eyes. She is tall and thin . In my family, we have several routines to follow. One of them is having breakfast together. Every morning, we get up at six. My sister and I help my mum prepare breakfast. My mum often cooks rice, meat or fish, and vegetables for breakfast. Sometimes we have bread, eggs and butter for a change. She say a big meal in the early morning will help us work or study better during the day. My dad gets up a bit late and helps with laying the table. At about 6:45, we all sit down and have the meal together. During breakfast, we talk about what each of us is going to do during the day. My parents sometimes give us some advice about how we should behave at school. At 7:30, we all leave home for work or school. Do you have any close friends? I think everybody at least has one close friend in their life. And so do I. I have one close friend, An. We aren't in the same class at primary but we study in the same class in secondary. An is my best friend. He studies in my class. We go to school together. We also sit together to do our home work. Distinguish Between the Two Descriptions
The last step in solidifying the use of these two types of descriptions is to distinguish between the two of them. Do some activities that combine the two points together in order to compare and contrast. Give them opportunities to describe people they know both by how they look and how they behave. You can do more surveys here to reinforce the language and to add to the ever-growing list of new vocabulary. One of my favorite activities to practice the two together is by providing the students with a blind date scenario. Put them in pairs and tell them that they are going to match up one of their friends or classmates with their partner. The partner can ask questions about the friend/classmate and can then decide if they would like to have a blind date. You can take it one step further and do a dating role play or get into discussions regarding meeting new people and relationships.
