In the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam, Muong people (also called Mol, Mual, Moi) have a population of over one million people. The Muong have the same origins as the ancient Vietnamese, who reside in many northern provinces, most concentrated in Hoa Binh Province and some mountainous districts of Thanh Hoa Province. Cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group associated with Hoa Binh culture was born more than ten thousand years ago. Since Muong people are of close source to Kinh people, their language belongs to the Viet-Muong group. Muong ethnic minority people have settled in mountainous areas, where there is a lot of production land, near traffic roads and convenient for doing business. Muong people have a tradition of farming and wet rice is a staple crop.

Trương Định (Trương Công Định) sinh năm 1820, người xã Tư Cung, huyện Bình Sơn, nay thuộc huyện Sơn Tịnh, tỉnh Quảng Ngãi. Trương Định là con của quan Thủy Vệ Uý Trương Cầm, tỉnh Gia Định. Năm 1854, hưởng ứng chính sách khẩn hoang của triều đình Huế do Nguyễn Tri Phương thi hành, ông đem hết tài sản đi chiêu mộ dân nghèo vùng Quảng Nam - Quảng Ngãi vào khai hoang lập đồn điền ở Gia Thuận, thuộc huyện Gò Công Đông ngày nay và được bổ chức Phó Quản Cơ của đồn điền.
Khi thực dân Pháp đưa quân đánh chiếm các tỉnh Đông Nam Kì của Việt Nam, Trương Định đã lãnh đạo nhân dân nổi dậy kháng chiến ở Tân Hòa. Sau khi Hiệp ước Nhâm Tuất được kí kết (1862), triều đình nhà Nguyễn hạ lệnh cho Trương Định bãi binh, mặt khác lại điều ông nhận chức Lãnh binh ở An Giang, rồi Phú Yên. Nhưng được sự ủng hộ của nhân dân, ông đã chống lệnh triều đình, quyết tâm ở lại cùng nhân dân kháng chiến “bảo vệ non sông, xóm làng”.
Nghĩa quân do Trương Định chỉ huy đã anh dũng chiến đấu, tổ chức vây đánh địch tại các vùng như: Mỹ Tho, Tân An, Chợ Lớn,… Sau khi căn cứ Tân Hòa (Gò Công) rơi vào tay Pháp, trước hỏa lực mạnh của địch, Trương Định đã buộc phải cho quân rút lui về căn cứ Tân Phước để bảo toàn lực lượng. Tại căn cứ Tân Phước, Trương Định cùng quân sĩ ráo riết chuẩn bị để tổ chức phản công, thu phục lại căn cứ Tân Hòa. Giữa lúc đó, giặc Pháp có tay sai là Huỳnh Công Tấn (tên này trước theo nghĩa quân, nhưng sau đó đã đầu hàng Pháp) dẫn đường bí mật lọt vào căn cứ, bao vây Trương Định và các tùy tướng. Trong cuộc đấu súng quyết liệt vào hửng sáng ngày 20/8/1864, Trương Định không may bị trúng đạn, gãy xương sống. Không muốn để giặc bắt, Trương Định đã rút gươm tự sát để bảo toàn khí tiết.

Thien Mu Pagoda is located on a hill of Ha Khe on the bank of Huong River, about 5km from Hue city center. According to the legend, when Lord Nguyen Hoang walked along the banks of the Huong River, examining the terrain here to prepare a great fortune, building a village overlooking Ha Khe hill with a dragon-shaped earth turned and looked back. to build a temple on the hill towards the Huong river and named it "Thien Mu". In the year of Tan Suu 1601, Thien Mu pagoda was officially started construction under the reign of Tien - Nguyen Hoang, in the period of 1691 - 1725, the pagoda was built on a larger scale and restored with many massive architectural works such as: Dai Hung Palace. , the Theory house, the Tang Kinh floor, ... there are many works that cannot be kept to this day. In 1844, the pagoda was reconstructed with Phuoc Duyen octagonal tower and Huong Nguyen communal house. The historic storm in 1904 destroyed the pagoda with many damaged works until 1907 to be rebuilt but not as before. Through many phases of architecture and restoration, today the pagoda still retains many large-scale and massive works and many valuable antiques such as Buddha statues, non-parallax panels. Phuoc Duyen Tower becomes the symbol of Thien Mu Pagoda, the 21m high tower consists of 7 floors, each floor has a Buddha statue. The Tang Kinh floor is home to 1000 sets of Buddhist scriptures that the Lord gave people to China to buy. The temple grounds are quite large, clear and airy with flower gardens, rockery, a series of stone steles inscribed on the history of the construction of the pagoda and poems of the king, especially the poem "Thien Mu common. bar "composed by King Thieu Tri is placed at the gate of the pagoda. Lễ hội, trang phục và chợ phiên của các dân tộc ít người:
Chợ phiên: Hợp một số ngày nhất định, ngoài mua bán, trao đổi hàng hoá còn là nơi giao lưu văn hóa và gặp gỡ, kết bạn.
Lễ hội: thường vào mùa xuân, tiêu biểu như: Hội chơi núi mùa xuân, hội xuống đồng, thi hát, múa sạp, múa còn …
Trang phục: Mỗi dân tộc có cách ăn mặc riêng, thường được may, khăn gối, thêu và trang trí công phu, màu sắc rực rỡ.
