1. I'm sure they didn't plan this project.

=> They can't have planned this project.

can't have done sth: dùng để nói ai đó chắc chắn đã không làm điều gì trong quá khứ

2. People say he was dismissed last week.

=> He is said to have been dismissed last week.

Dạng bị động phức: động từ "say" chia ở hiện tại nên đổi thành "He is said...";

"was dismissed" là thì quá khứ nên đổi thành "to have been dismissed"

3. "I'm sorry I missed the appointment with the doctor this morning." he said.

=> He apologised for having missed/missing the appointment with the doctor that morning.

Cấu trúc to apologize (to sb) for doing sth: xin lỗi (ai) về cái gì. => đổi missed thành missing hoặc having missed

"this morning" trong câu trực tiếp đổi thành câu gián tiếp sẽ là "that morning"

4. Why don't you do your homework before going to class?

=> If I were you, I would do my homework before going to class.

Cấu trúc If I were you + câu điều kiện loại 2: dùng để khuyên ai đó

"You should" cũng bằng nghĩa với 2 cấu trúc trên, bạn chú ý điều này vì nó thường xuất hiện trong các bài viết lại.

Và vì mệnh đề có chủ ngữ đã chuyển thành "I", bạn cần đổi "your homework" thành "my homework"

5. This motorbike is cheaper than I thought it would be.

=> This motorbike is not as expensive as I thought it would be.

Ở đây đơn giản bạn chỉ đổi từ "rẻ hơn" thành "không đắt bằng"
