When you get stuck in traffic, you roll up all windows of' your car and open the air recirculation system. You may think these measures can protect your nose from the nasty smelling fumes going up from the cars around you. Actually, recent researches have shown that on-the-road ex­posure to pollutants can damage the heart.

Over the past several years, it has been proved that air pollution worsens heart disease and even causes heart attacks.
