Volunteering is gradually gaining more popularity among young people. Adolescents really enjoy helping those in need and lately the research has shown that about 30% of adolescents is keen on doing voluntary work. Why is that and what are the pros and cons of such decision?

First of all, people are slowly realizing the value of selfless  help. Esecially, young people start involving themselves into events and actions that are to persuade others, for instance, to more ecological, zero-waste life. This is only an example, but it's scuh a great opportunity for young people to develop their mindset and consciousness. They are learning from other people and implement the learning they got into life.

On the other hand, resigning from paid work makes them more dependant on their parents. They are not able to earn some moey, because they spend a lot of time on volunteering which might be disturbing for their situation. If they want to be more independent in their teenager life, they should also consider paid seasonal work, or try to combine volunteering with it.

Regardless of everything, volunteering is really developing. Teenagers need to decide, what is their main priority in their adolescense. Both decisions are good, but they need to think them through wisely.
