- Take a garbage bag while walking through the neighborhood: Pick up any litter along the way. As a by-product, you can get some exercise built into your day.
- Shop with locally owned businesses, saving time and money: Many locally owned businesses offer services like free gift-wrapping and delivery. And a percentage of your sales taxes go directly to the local community.
- Find positive aspects of your community share with other people: A positive image encourages residents to shop locally, increases the chance new businesses will open in the area and promotes growth.
- Attend a local festival or other event: Many have free admission and activities. Most festivals are actually fundraisers for non-profit organizations who make their money through sponsorships. Since sponsors look at attendance numbers to decide how much to give, your family can add to the number and help increase what businesses give next year.
- Write a letter to local elected officials encouraging them for making good decisions for the community: People work harder when they know they are appreciated. And elected officials seldom hear enough encouraging words.
- Put a potted plant on your front porch: When your home looks spruced up, it makes the whole neighborhood and the community to look better as well.
- Take left over dinner to an elderly neighbor: If you have a family of four, cook enough dinner for five one night and deliver a plate to the widow next door. Your delivery helps you to get to know your neighbors better. And police promote knowing your neighbors as the best way to fight neighborhood crime.
- Look for opportunities to give in your community: Many schools collect items, such as like canned foods, old coats, toys and eyeglasses, for less fortunate families.
- Vote: While the Presidential election comes around only once every four years, elections happen every year. Check out the candidates for local and state elections.
- Encourage your employer to sponsor local events, join a civic organization or allow employees to volunteer during work hours: Many businesses have volunteer programs to reward employees for volunteering. Local news media often cover large volunteer events and having employee representation gives businesses extra publicity

In Vietnam, almost everyone, has been a volunteer work and I have too. At my age, I have not been donate blood so I often donate books, toys and clothes for street children and homeless people. I often do this work with my mother. Latest here on Sunday, I with my mother was used to donate books and clothes for a charity organization. In here, I met the orphans children. I played with them. Then I gave candies to them. They were all very happy.
Some people think doing volunteer work is waste of time but in my opinion, doing volunteer work help me relax after school and it help me healthy. When I doing this work, I feel very happy to bring happiness to them.

Favourite kind of music:
Most people like music and so do I. I like music because it is my favourite entertainment in my free time. Moreover, music is good for my spiritual relaxation and helps release my work-related stress. My favourite music genre/style is POP due to four reasons.
Firstly, I am most spiritually relaxed by listening to POP music as it makes me feel excited and comfortable. For this reason, I listen to it every afternoon.
Secondly, it makes me more positive and active so that I can do my works better.
Thirdly, by sharing the common interest in POP music, I can make a lot of fiends around the worlds without the need of speaking their own language.
Finally, I believe that listening to POP music makes me smarter in my daily activities.
Different people have different taste in music but I think POP music is the most popular and has the largest number of fans. In America, Taylor Swift is the top POP singers with thousands of followers including me. Nevertheless, there are so many kinds of music in this world and I believe all of them are good in bringing people closer and making people love their lives even more.

Many people in the world do volunteer work. Each nation has a lot of people who voluntarily take care of others. Even though who you are and how much your age is……… you all do volunteer work. There are many volunteer works such as visiting old or sick people, teach poor children……… and so on, however, have you ever thought that why do people do volunteer work?
It is sure that there are many reasons for it.
In my opinion, there are five main reasons why people do volunteer work. The first reason, I think that it is humanity. People , who feel lucky and have a good life, share the feelings of the poor, the injured, the disables……….and so on. Thus, they want to share with them difficulties and sadness, give small helps to them which can help them overcome troubles. They want to bring happiness to poor and disabled children as well as boys who no longer have fathers and girls who no longer have mothers. They want to help these children be gone to school and teach them things which they usually learn from their parents. Besides, they take care of old and sick people because they consider them as their relatives and hope to help them pass over loneliness and sickness. They also want to their kids about humanity. They teach them to love and help others. Secondly, people do volunteer work because it is their interest in free time, perhaps.” Instead of listening to music or playing games….. we like to do volunteer works. It is really interesting and we can also help others.” Some people shared. Thirdly, some people do it because it is their work. These people usually work in voluntary organizations. They are paid for it. The fourth reason, people who not only want to help but they also train their ability in activities of society, do volunteer work. They think it can both help others and train themselves. They also find out friends or people who have sympathy with them. Finally, above all things, people do volunteer work because they think that the happiest people in the world are those who help to bring happiness to others. It is one of the most successes in their life.
In a word, volunteer work is a happiness, right?!

I don't think it has to be unique. Lots of people do the same things over and over again.
I did a lot, I volunteered with LGBT causes, cleaned beaches, volunteered about 3000 hours for a space education non-profit, tutored, did light repair work for the ill (basically painted houses), volunteered in a hospital (of course), did historical reenactment (4 leadership positions), and did community service through religious groups. I know there were a few others in there but I had community service/volunteer work drilled into me as a child so I kept with it as an adult. The hospital volunteering, the space education, and the historical reenactment were on my AMCAS. With the exception of two of them, I did very willingly and kept with it for a long time. I could do it because they were great causes/passions of mine.
I think it would probably be best if you picked something you enjoyed and worried less about standing out. Not everyone can be a leader in community service. Do you love helping kids and fancy yourself a decent teacher? Maybe tutoring inner city kids is good. Love museums? Volunteer there. Like renaissance festivals? Contact your local one and see if they sign off on community service as a NPO, I know at least one that does and another organization that does as well.
