Dear Tom,

I'm happy to hear that you are going to join the Ok Om Bok Festival in Soc Trang Province. As I know, Ok Om Bok Festival, also called Moon Offering Festival is a traditional folk festival has existed for a very long time of Khmer people in Mekong Delta, especially in Tra Vinh and Soc Trang Provinces.

Here are some advice for you about what you should and shouldn’t do at that festival. First, I think you should wear trainer or shoes and comfortable clothes because maybe you will walk a lot. Remember not to refuse young rice when the elders offer it to you because it shows the gratefulness from the local people to the Moon God.

Also, I should remind you that you must not to litter on the ground or run away from your father. It's an big festival so it will be crowded, you should be careful to not get lost. Anyway, I hope you will have a great time with your dad and enjoy the festival.

Love,

Referring to the New Year, I would be happy ! New Year this year, I hope to have a lot of fun! Which is lucky, eat sweets, ... And one thing that I least expect it's "Eve".
Every year, on 30/1, then I'm burning up! On this day, I want to sleep until 7:30 the morning, along with your breakfast US- close friend of my neighbor. Then walk around the street together. Noon, I wish everyone in my neighborhood would gather to eat bars, karaoke. In the afternoon, I, My and Huyen and I will go swimming. 4:00 And they went for ice cream. Finally the evening, me and my sister will be playing the computer, and play again just as the Kitchen God. And 8:00 to 11:30 sleep when my mother called up, just then, the sisters would burn sparklers. 12:00 arrived, my family will really warm Eve. And sleep together.
That's what I always wanted one. I hope this dream will come true!

Hi,

It’s nice to hear from you again,

Let me tell you about how I spend my free time. When I finish all my homework, I often play a game and read a book. On Sunday, I usually go swimming with my friends at a nearby pool. We also play football in the afternoon. On Sunday, I always help my mom with housework and cooking meals. Then I do DIY with my younger brother.

How do you spend your free time? I’m looking forward to your reply.

Bye for now,

At the night of the Full Moon day, Khmer people set up a table of offerings; new sticky rice,
yam, coconuts, bananas, sweeties, etc and bow their head to show their thanks to the Moon. After
that, there is a colorful and sparkling lanterns ceremony on Ba Om Lake. Khmer people not only
drop these lanterns on the lake but also fly them to the sky. Dozens of great lantern lighten the
night sky in bustling music and the joy of Khmer people. Khmer people believe that these lanterns
will bring bad luck and risk far away.
The most attractive and exciting activity of Ok Om Bok Festival is Ngo race (a special kind of
boat of Khmer people in shape of Nagar snake). Ngo race is a traditional sport of Khmer in Ok Om
Bok Festival. Ngo is a long boat with 25 - 30 meters in length and 1 - 1.4 meter in width. There are
about 40 to 60 boatmen in every “Ngo” with a leader at the top to guide the whole team. Before the
race, people gather along the riverbanks making an exciting atmosphere. During the race, the
boisterous sound of drum, trumpet, cheers and applause urge boatmen row as fast as possible to the
end.
