Nếu dịch ra là: Ô nhiễm nước là sự ô nhiễm của các vùng nước, thường là do các hoạt động của con người. Các vùng nước bao gồm ví dụ như hồ, sông, đại dương, các tầng chứa nước và nước ngầm. Các chất gây ô nhiễm nguồn điểm là chất thải công nghiệp, nước thải, thuốc trừ sâu, thuốc diệt cỏ. Có rất nhiều ảnh hưởng mà ô nhiễm nước có thể gây ra. Con người và động vật có thể chết nếu uống nước bị ô nhiễm. Thực vật cũng sẽ bị giết bởi các chất ô nhiễm. Vậy chúng ta có thể làm gì để giải quyết vấn đề? Chính phủ nên phạt thật nặng những công ty bị phát hiện làm việc này, biện pháp quan trọng nhất là nâng cao tinh thần trách nhiệm của cộng đồng. Water pollution is the contamination of bodies of water such as lakes, rivers, oceans, and groundwater (the water beneath the Earth’s surface). It is one of the most serious types of pollution.
Water pollution can have many different causes. Factories dump industrial waste into lakes and rivers. Sewage from households is another cause. Farms using pesticides to kill insects and herbicides to kill weeds can also lead to water pollution. These factors cause ‘point source’ pollution while pollutants from storm water and the atmosphere result in ‘non-point source’ pollution.
Water pollution can have dramatic effects.
