Thời gian đã chuyển dần sang chiều, ánh mắt trời nhanh chóng bị che khuất, bầu trời trong xanh bỗng nhường chỗ cho những đám mây đen từ phía chân trời kéo lại. Những cơn gió mát mùa hạ cũng ngừng thổi, tiếng sấm chớp vang đến dồn dập hơn như báo hiệu cơn mưa dông đang đến rất gần.

Những đám mây lớn, nặng bao phủ cả bầu trời. Cơn gió lành lạnh thổi qua mang theo vài hạt mưa. Mưa bắt đầu rơi lộp bộp trước sân nhà. Tiếng sấm, tiếng sét ngày càng vang lên dữ dội. Mưa bắt đầu tăng dần, mưa tới tấp, ào ào, nổi trên mặt sân, cây cối ngả nghiêng trong gió. Đàn gà đang thong dong ngoài vườn kiếm mồi vội vàng trú ẩn dưới những gốc cây tránh mưa, những chú gà nhanh chân hơn đã kịp chạy về chuồng trú ẩn.

Ngoài đồng, các bác nông dân đang đội nón và khoác chiếc áo mưa, khơi thông dòng nước chảy để tránh ngập úng cũng đám ruộng mới gieo trồng. Mưa có lẽ là niềm vui thích nhất của lũ trẻ chúng em, lũ bạn đang í ới gọi nhau ra tắm mưa và đá bóng nên nền sân gạch sạch sẽ. Bất giác giơ tay ra hứng những giọt nước mưa nặng hạt, ran rát nhưng mát lạnh, có cái gì tươi mới dường như cũng trỗi dậy trong em.

Mưa đang ào ạt, bỗng thưa dần rồi tạnh hẳn. Ánh nắng mặt trời vàng óng chan hòa xuống khắp làng quê. Hạt mưa còn đọng lại trên cánh hoa, lá trong veo như hạt ngọc. Bầu trời quang đãng, mát mẻ, vườn cây rung rinh trong gió nhẹ, những chiếc lá sạch bóng, xanh mát như vừa được tắm gội sạch sẽ. Đàn gà trú ẩn dưới gốc cây vỗ đôi cánh để rơi những giọt nước nhỏ còn đọng trên đôi cánh, rồi tiếp tục tìm mồi. Trên con đường làng, mọi người tấp nập đi lại, tiếng xe cộ rộn vang.

Mùa hè đến cùng với những cơn mưa mùa hạ tinh nghịch thích đến, thích đi mà không báo trước. Cơn mưa mang đến nguồn nước quý giá cho cây cối, ruộng đồng, mang đến cả niềm vui cho con người. Và cầu vồng xuất hiện phía chân trời xa xa kia như lời chào tạm biệt đẹp đẽ nhất đến với thế gian mà những cơn mưa rào mùa hạ vội vã vẫn kịp để lại.
