Lời giải:

Nellie managed to win the race and go around the world in 72 days, six hours, eleven minutes and fourteen seconds.

So, how did Nellie first get the idea of travelling around the world?

She read a novel by Jules Verne called Around the World in Eighty Days. Nellie decided to copy the adventure and try to go around the world in fewer than eighty days.

Eighty days seems like quite a long time.

Well, the year was 1888 – and of course, in those days, there were no aeroplanes or helicopters. As a result, it took a long time to travel long distances.

So how did Nellie pay for this adventure?

G The owner of the newspaper, Joseph Pulitzer, agreed to pay for it. It was good publicity. Indeed, another New York newspaper called Cosmopolitan thought it was such a good idea that they sent their own reporter, Elizabeth Bisland, to go around the world too.

Did the two women travel together?

G No. They both left New York on 14th November 1889. But Nellie went east, across the Atlantic to London. Elizabeth travelled in the opposite direction, west across the United States.

- What do you think this app does?

(Bạn nghĩ ứng dụng này làm gì?)

=> “Parents can get a free app called DinnerTime, which locks their children’s devices at certain times of the day and tight. During those times, the children are unable to access messages, games, or the internet.”

I think the app would decrease the number of arguments in your family. At first, this can cause a lot of arguments because the children aren't used to using no devices while eating. However, after one or two weeks, the children can have a new healthy habit without smartphones or tablets during mealtimes. After that, they will feel free to share everything with their family and like to have good moments when the family are eating together. Therefore, everyone can understand each other more clearly, enjoying quality time and even the number of arguments would decrease.

Let's see if you can correctly answer the following question: At what age are Latter-day Saint youth allowed to date? Of course, you probably immediately said, "16". OK, then, how about this one: At what age are you allowed to have a boyfriend or girlfriend? You may be thinking, “Um, 16. Didn't I just answer that?" Well, if that was your answer, then, even though you aced the first question, you missed the second one. Just because you can date when you turn 16 doesn't mean you should immediately start looking for a steady boyfriend or girlfriend. [….]

To begin with, there are two different types of dating: casual dating and steady (or serious) dating. The distinction between the two has to do with exclusivity. With casual dating, there is no exclusivity. The two people aren't “a couple” or “an item”, and they don't refer to each other as a “boyfriend” or “girlfriend”. They don't pair off. People who are casually dating are simply friends. This is the kind of dating the Church encourages you to do after you turn 16. You should put aside a need to find a “one and only”. If you're dating casually, you don't expect a relationship to become a romance. You have fun; you do a variety of things with a variety of people. On the other hand, steady dating means the couple is exclusive with one another. They expect each other not to date anyone else or to be emotionally or physically close with other people. Couples who date seriously consider the future, because there is a real possibility they could stay together. This is the kind of dating the Church encourages young adults (generally, people in their 20s) to progress toward, because that's the age when they should be thinking of marrying. [….]

Question 1: It can be inferred from the first paragraph that ____.

A. dating doesn't mean having exclusive boyfriend or girlfriend

B. teenagers are supposed to have a steady boyfriend or girlfriend

C. teenagers date as many boyfriends or girlfriends as they can

D. young people shouldn't be allowed to date at 16

                                                               Hue Citadel

* Located on the northern bank of the Perfume River, the Imperial City of Hue was not only the administrative centre but also the royal residence of the Nguyen Dynasty.

*Its construction began under the reign of Emperor Gia Long in the early 19th century and it was completed during the reign of Minh Mang, involving huge expenditure and the recruitment of tens of thousands of labourers.

*The Citadel comprises three concentric walled areas: the Citadel (Kinh Thanh), the Imperial City (Hoang Thanh) and the Purple Forbidden City (Tu Cam Thanh). The entire square-shaped complex with a perimeter of nearly 10 km is enclosed within the outer walls which are 6.6 m high and 21.5 m thick.

* Gates were built into the Citadel walls - four on the south front side and two on each of the other sides.

*During the Nguyen Dynasty, there used to be more than 100 buildings dedicated to specific functions such as palaces for worshipping deceased royal family members, royal government ministries and residential quarters. The Purple Forbidden City was reserved exclusively for the emperor and his close family.

*The restoration work is currently under way to restore the splendour of this iconic site.

*Hue Citadel was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.

Woman: I love it. Can I make an appointment to look around?

Agent: I'm afraid you can't do that. The house doesn't exist yet! You need to choose a location first. But the house would only  take twelve weeks to build.

Woman: I see. I need to find somewhere soon, so I'll have to make up my mind quickly.

AgentCan I ask what you do?

Woman: I'm a yoga teacher.

AgentWhere do you teach?

Woman: At the local sports centre. But if I moved to a bigger house, I'd want to make one room into a yoga studio.

AgentWell, this house would be a great place to do yoga! Just take your yoga mat

outside onto the cliff. Imagine the sunrise over the waves, the solitude...

Woman: I suppose you would be alone there ... except for all the people who stop to take photos of your house!
