   I have had this little wooden pencil case with me for abut 2 years. It is the most precious gift that i have because it was made for me by my late grandfather for my 11th birthday.

     My grandfather was a good carpenter. After he retired, he continue to spend his time on woodwork. He liked to work in the garden where it was cooler and larger. I used to sit beside him and watch he hammered away.

     One day, I couldn't find my grandfather in his unusual place in the garden. After hunting high and low. I found him in his room. His head was bent over a rectangular object and his hands were busy carving something. As soon as he saw me, he hid the object behind his back and smiled guiltily, like someone caught in a naughty act.

         Just before my birthday, my dear grandfather fell sick. On the eve of my birthday, he passed away.

        The next day, i found the wooden pencil case in his drawer. There were some words carved on it:"Happy birthday to my beloved grandaughter".I was touched. So that was what my grandfather had been so secretive about. Since that day, i have always cherished the birthday gift from my grandfather. To me, it is a priceless gift.

Chúng ta thường gọi từ này ”Chung cake”, nhưng hiện nay nó đã có tên tiếng Anh đầy đủ là “stuffed sky rice cake”. Các bạn nhớ chú ý để gọi thật chính xác nhé!

“Stuffed sky rice cake” is one the most traditional special foods for the lunar new year in Viet Nam. It is made of sky rice, pork and green bean, all ingredients are wrapped inside a special leaf which calls Lá Dong. The rice and green bean have to be soaked in water for a day. The pork is usually seasoned with pepper & salt for several hours. Banh Chung is boiled for 6 or 8 hours. Nowadays, families in villages still maintain making stuffed sky rice cake before the lunar New Year but people in the cities do not. They don’t have time to make it and usually go to shops to buy it.”

Pho is one of the Vietnamese traditional food. The most delicious and typical brand of Pho in Vietnam is Ha Noi Pho with wonderful flavor. Pho is made from rice noodles, beef or chicken and other spices. Pho is a noodle soup; therefore, it’s better when being added with beansprout. Eating Pho with family not only reflects Vietnamese tradition but also creates cozy atmosphere. At weekends, my friends and I usually go to a cafeteria to enjoy Pho because Pho is served at many restaurants in Vietnam. There are two main kind of Pho: noodle soup with beef and sliced chicken, both of them are delicious and high nutrients. Pho is favorite food of almost Vietnamese and often served as breakfast. Moreover, Pho is popular in international market for its pleasant taste and reasonable price. Foreign tourists visit Vietnam and they really the taste of Pho here. I am very proud of it. In near future, I hope Pho will be more famous in other countries so that foreigners can enjoy this cuisine and understand about Vietnamese culture.

Nowadays , English is an international language , and most young people are learning this language with the hope of being able to communicate with people on over the world . English has become a compulsorysubject at most schools , and a lot of people go to foreign a process of training , and improving listening , speaking , reading and writing skill . We should focus on these four elements because each skill will have the necessary content to complement the other three . We improve our speaking skill if we can listen to and understand what people say ; and if we can master our vocabulary and grammar , we can write and read easily . Apart from spending the time to practice , we also need to be creative in learning English . Textbooks at schools and English-teaching centers are just basic steps , so we need to be proactive in finding more resources . There are a lot of movie , music and books written in English nowadays , and we can learn a lot from them . In short , learning English is a long process , but it will be easier if we can find the right and ecffective ways to learn

Việc hoc tiếng anh không chỉ gói gọn trong việc ghi nhớ từ vựng và văn phạm mà đó là cả một quá trình rèn luyện và nâng cao các kĩ năng nghe , nói , đọc , viết .Chúng ta nên chú trọng cả bốn yếu tố trên , vì mỗi kĩ năng có những nội dung cần thiết để bổ sung cho cả ba phần còn lại . Chúng ta nghe tốt thì mới có thể nói tốt , chúng ta nắm chắc từ vựng và văn phạm thì mới có thể viết và đọc dễ dàng . Ngoài việc dành thời gian để tập luyện , chúng ta cần phải có sự sáng tạo trong việc học tiếng anh . Sách giáo khoa ở trường và các trung tâm chỉ là những bước đi cơ bản , vậy nên chúng ta phải chủ động trong việc tìm kiếm thêm nhiều nguồn tài liệu khác nhau . Hiện nay có rất nhiều phim , nhạc và sách được viết bằng tiếng anh và chúng ta có thể học được nhiều điều từ chúng .
