x^4 + 5x^3 +10x -4

<=> (x^4 - 4)+ (5x^3 +10x)

<=> (x^2 - 2)(x^2 +2) + 5x(x^2 + 2)

<=> (x^2 + 2)(x^2 -2 + 5x)

\(3x^2+x-2=3x^2-2x+3x-2=x\left(3x-2\right)+\left(3x-2\right)=\left(x+1\right)\left(3x-2\right)\)

\(x^4+x^2+1=\left(x^4+2x^2+1\right)-x^2=\left(x^2+1\right)^2-x^2=\left(x^2-x+1\right)\left(x^2+x+1\right)\)

\(x^2+2xy-15y^2=x^2-3xy+5xy-15y^2=x\left(x-3y\right)+5y\left(x-3y\right)=\left(x+5y\right)\left(x-3y\right)\)

a.

$x^4+10x^3+26x^2+10x+1$

$=(x^4+10x^3+25x^2)+x^2+10x+1$

$=(x^2+5x)^2+2(x^2+5x)+1-x^2$

$=(x^2+5x+1)^2-x^2=(x^2+5x+1-x)(x^2+5x+1+x)$

$=(x^2+4x+1)(x^2+6x+1)$

b.

$x^4+x^3-4x^2+x+1$

$=(x^4-x^2)+(x^3-x^2)+(x-x^2)+(1-x^2)$

$=x^2(x-1)(x+1)+x^2(x-1)-x(x-1)-(x-1)(x+1)$

$=(x-1)[x^2(x+1)+x^2-x-(x+1)]$

$=(x-1)(x^3+2x^2-2x-1)$

$=(x-1)[(x^3-1)+(2x^2-2x)]=(x-1)[(x-1)(x^2+x+1)+2x(x-1)]$
