Robots now have many uses. Many factories use robots to ..do... lots of hard work quickly and without many mistakes. These ..are ... 'industrial' robots. The military uses robots to find and get ruf of bombs. If a robot ..makes....a mistake , the robot is damaged or destroyed, which is better ...than... a person being killed. There are also robots that help at ....home...., to vacuum or cut grass, for example. Such robots must ...learn.... about the area of work. There are two robots on Mars. Because it ...takes... a long time to send a signal from earth to mars, the robots do much on their work alone, ....without... commands from earth. People still think of robots as having a shape ....like.. a person-two legs, two arms , and a head. ASIMO is one robot that is helping scientists learn ....how..... to design and program robots. It can walk, which is not easy to program.

WILL ALL TEACHERS BE ROBOTS IN THE FUTURE? How will technology change
the world of work? Nobody really knows, but we can make predictions. Scientists think
that some jobs will disappear because of new technology. For example, there won’t be
any mechanics because robots will repair our cars. Programmers will lose their jobs too,
because robots will write all the computer software. And scientists don’t think we’ll need
pilots, as robots will fly planes. But what about teachers or doctors? Will robots take
their jobs? Probably not. Robots are very good at technical work, but they aren’t very
good at dealing with people!
1. Robots ___ (repair) our cars.
2. Robots ___ (write) computer programs.
3. Robots ___ (fly) planes.

4. Robots ___ (work) as doctors.
5. Robots ___ (teach) students at school.

Robots are often used for DDD jobs and where a specific action needs to be repeated. It is very difficult for humans to do this. There are many different types of robots. Some robots travel through space, work on the bottom of the ocean, or go inside volcanoes. They do the work of people, but for a different reason this time: there are places that are very dangerous for people, or impossible for people to go to. Robots are everywhere. Most people don’t know that robots help us everyday and in many different ways. In most houses, there are robots. For example, in some houses today there is a washing machine in the kitchen. Washing machines are robots. People can programme them and then they wash clothes automatically. Some scientists make robots for fun. For example, the dogs are made as toys for small children. Japan produces the most robots. Every year in the capital, Tokyo, there is a robot exhibition called Robodex. It is the largest robot exhibition in the world. What can robots do in car factories? _____________________________________________________________________ Why are robots useful or this kind of work? _____________________________________________________________________ Why do people often use robots to work on the bottom of the ocean or inside volcanoes? _____________________________________________________________________ How can people make washing machines useful? _____________________________________________________________________ Can robots bring us fun?
