Vietnam is famous for its several holiday and festival, especially Tet holiday. It takes place from the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar until at least the third day. Although occurring in short period of time, it is believed to be the most important and popular holiday in Vietnam. There are many special food are made so as to prepare for Tet meal such as: sky square cake, Vietnamese sausage, sky rice and jam. The food is thought to reflect Vietnam’s habit and custom as well as Vietnamese’s lifestyle. Besides, the meal has other dishes fish, vegetable to show the hope for a successful and prosperous new year. In term of customs, children’s receiving red envelop from the elder, visiting relative’s houses and going to church are popular activities. Giving lucky money is thought to bring children hope and health. Church is the symbol of peace; therefore, individual go there and pray for successive year. Traditionally, the house is designed with peach flower in the North and Ochna integerrima in the south part of Vietnam. Besides, the house as well as town are clear, decorative and beautiful as all are ready to start a new year. People have cozy atmosphere and enjoy joyful time with their family’s members. It’s high time for people living at different parts of country gathering and spending time together. Tet is a chance for one to come back home after many stress and pressure of studying and working environment. Tet is not simply a holiday, it is culture and habit of Vietnamese since its deep meaning is sacred and important. All in all, Tet includes not only joy but also long-standing event in people’s soul as it helps one grow up through experience.

I love listening to music, but I am not other people who often listen to the music that is popular at a time. The part of music that attracts me is the attitude of the composers and the tone, because the songs represent the writers’ mood and feeling. Through the songs people can feel what the composers try to express, so I often listen to Jazz, Rock, and R&B. These three types of music contain different languages but they are all my favorite music styles.

When I really want to relax my body, or to do the exercises at home I will listen to Jazz music. I do not have the exact time to do exercises, I just play it to release my body. Jazz music is much faster and more relaxing than pop music. It makes me want to dance, to do any kind of motion to let go of my body while the music is on. Sometimes I prefer to do it on my bed. It is healthy for my body.

My second favorite music style is Rock, which I listen to when I am in a bad mood or lonely. Rock is very different from Jazz because Rock is quite noisy and contains a lot of screaming. But the tone of the songs is magic that can flush all my unhappiness, even though those things are still right there, but at the moment I can feel I have strength to solve problems, and I am not scared of anything anymore. When I have something to face or have to make a choice, I always listen to Rock music, let the music go through my mind so that I can think deeper and deeper.

I often just sit on the chair and do nothing. This happened when I am quite tired or sleepy; for example, sitting on the MRT or buses, I do not think or do anything. I do not to be disturbed by others, I want to have my own space. And R&B music can help me get away from my busy life and clean up my soul.

The three types of music have different functions for me, however, they all bring me happiness and help me get through difficult time.

Nhạc Jazz nhanh hơn và thư giãn hơn nhiều so với nhạc pop. Nhạc Jazz thôi thúc tôi nhảy múa, buông mình vận động theo bất kỳ cách nào. Đôi khi tôi thích ngọ nguậy vận động trên giường mình. Làm vậy giúp cơ thể tôi khỏe khoắn hơn.

Phong cách âm nhạc yêu thích thứ hai của tôi là Rock, tôi nghe Rock khi tôi đang có tâm trạng tồi tệ hoặc cô đơn. Rock rất khác so với Jazz vì Rock khá ồn ào và có nhiều tiếng gào thét. Nhưng giai điệu của các bài hát lại giống như ma thuật có thể xả trôi tất cả muộn phiền, mặc dù những điều tồi tệ vẫn còn đó, nhưng tại thời điểm ấy tôi cảm thấy tôi có sức mạnh để giải quyết vấn đề, và tôi không sợ hãi bất kỳ điều gì nữa. Khi phải đối mặt với một vấn đề hoặc phải đưa ra lựa chọn, tôi luôn nghe nhạc Rock, để âm nhạc lướt qua tâm trí mình để có thể suy nghĩ sâu hơn, sâu hơn nữa.

Tôi thường có thói quen chỉ ngồi trên ghế và không làm gì cả. Điều này xảy ra khi tôi mệt mỏi hoặc buồn ngủ; ví dụ, khi ngồi trên tàu điện ngầm hoặc xe buýt, tôi không nghĩ hoặc làm bất cứ điều gì. Tôi không muốn bị quấy rầy bởi những người khác, tôi muốn có không gian riêng của mình. Và nhạc R&B có thể giúp tôi thoát khỏi cuộc sống bận rộn và gột rửa tâm hồn mình.

Ba loại nhạc có tác dụng khác nhau với tôi, tuy nhiên, tất cả đều mang lại niềm hạnh phúc và giúp tôi vượt qua những thời điểm khó khăn.
