Then he saw his neighbor trying to light her smoked stove. Her eyes watered and she coughed so much. The boy, without hesitation, gave the stick to his neighbor. "Here Auntie, use my stick to heat your stove"- he said. When the stove was OK and hot perfectly, she baked him a soft, round roti, a traditional Indian cake.

The boy was looking for a shade place to ẹnjoy the roti when he heard a baby crying. The baby was hungry but her mother had no food. The boy immediately told the mother to feed her baby his roti. He almost didn't saw someone was groaning from a roadside ditch. An old man wearing torn clothes was laying in the dust. The boy ran as quickly as he could to fill the jug with water. The man drink water from the jug and told his story: "I am a trader, but robbers stole my goods." He just had 2 horses, and they were standing by a tree. The boy also gave water to them. The boy asked if there is a problem. One young man said: "I'm going to my wedding, where this band will perform. But if I show up on foot, my bride will laugh at me" The boy hopped off the horse and handed the reins to the groom. He thought that he had a whole life without a horse. The young man needed it more than he did! The musicians leaped up and sang. A singer stopped to thank the boy for his kindness. In exchange, he deserved a beautiful drum.

The boy shouted with joy. He tapped the drum the whole way home. His mother came out to see what the noise was. The boy told her about the story of the stick, a roti, a jug, a horse and a drum.

The missing ring

Robert's mother was very sad. On Saturday, she lost her favourite ring when the family went for a walk in the forest. Robert's dad went back on Sunday morning to try to find it. He looked everywhere but he couldn't see it because the ring was very little and it was dark under the big trees.

"I'll buy you another sliver ring just like the one you lost," he said to Robert's mum that evening. "But I loved that one!" she answered.

On Monday morning she was still unhappy so Robert said, "Let's go for another walk after school. Perhaps we will finnd your fing if we look again very carefully." "Good idea, Robert," she answered.

So later that afternoon, they drove back to the forest. They enjoyed walking there. They kicked the leaves with their feet and listened to all the birds in the trees.

Suddenly a lovely red, spotted butterfly flew out of the trees and down on to the ground in front of them. "Look at that!" Robert said. When Robert's mother looked through her camera to take a picture, she saw something on the small leaf which was under the butterfly. It was her missing ring!

"I can't believe it!" she said. "A butterfly has shown us where I dropped my ring!" It was a very good end to the day.
