My dream house will be a one-storey country cottage . Thought many people like to live in a big house , I prefer living in a small one on a farm because I might enjoy fresh air and a peaceful .
The frond of the house will be made of stone and it will have a nice wooden roof with a chimney on the top . I will use space in my house effciently . There will be a living room , four bedrooms , two bathrooms and large windows that will let in a lot of natural light .

Everybody has his or her own hobby. My favourite hobby is reading. I enjoy reading a book when I am free. I started to get the hobby from my father when I was four years old. My father is a researcher so he has a great collection of books on many fields: literature, science, art,…
I enjoy reading because it allows me to explore my own imaginative world. I keep the hobby of reading at least one hour every day. I usually read books at home, in my own room, at my office or at the local library. On my freetime, I can spend hours reading and thinking about facts described in each kind of books.
My favourite author is J.K.Rowling who wrote world-famous books “ Harry Potter”.
For me a good book is not only a true companion but also a well-experienced teacher guiding me through my life. There are a lot of advantages of reading. Reading makes me feel relaxed and calm. It has the miracle to relieve my suffering and my hardship and reveal to me strange and new horizons. I can also learn new vocabularies and grammars. So I can further improve my English. Moreover, it gives me unlimited imaginations. I can learn about different cultures of other countries in the world, too.
Instead of indulging myself in futile entertainments, I am often keen on reading books, which broadens my mind and improves my knowledge.
In a few words, the reading of books contributes to the moral and intellectual formation of a man. I love reading and I love books. I will collect more and more books and I wish I can write my own books in the future.

I would like to talk about the Lunar New Year festival, also known as the Tet holiday, which is the occasion expected the most by Vietnamese people every year. The festival usually lasts for around 3-4 days, and it takes place when a new year comes according to the lunar calendar.
The Lunar New Year festival takes place because it is one of the most well-known traditions of Vietnam. Our people have been celebrating this occasion for thousands of years, and although there has been some recent argument about whether we should stop celebrating this festival, I do not think this activity will come to an end soon, at least not in the short term.
There are some common things that people do during this festival. Perhaps the most important thing is that people who work and study in big cities would go back to their hometown to celebrate the new year with their families and relatives. The new year festival is one of very few occasions that families can gather together, so it is easy to understand why everyone in Vietnam expects this festival so much. Another thing that we usually do is that we give children some “lucky money” with the hope that it will bring fortune to those kids. We also have some other activities such as making “chung” cake, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on.
The new year festival is so important to me and also to all Vietnamese citizens. The reason is because we get more days off from work and study, and therefore we have more time to spend with our families and our loved ones. It is also a great time to think about what we have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the upcoming year.

There are many traffic problems in the city. Traffic congestion is the most prominent. The main cause of this problem is the population explosion in urban areas, causing overpopulation. There is too much traffic on the highway, making it inconvenient to travel. It also takes a lot of our time. In addition to traffic congestion, traffic accidents are also a serious problem. There are many causes of an accident. The first is due to the carelessness, the lack of awareness of the pedestrians. In addition, partly due to too many vehicles, making it difficult to move and cross the road. Next is the roads that are not safe enough. There were many potholes, and the road was too narrow and muddy. Traffic problems will be prevented if we obey the law.

Especially in big cities, the traffic situation is getting worse with every passing day. Traffic snarls up every day and one of the causes of these traffic jams is an increase in the number of vehicles in the city. Water pollution is a source of water contaminated with chemicals or foreign toxins that are detrimental to the health of users, plants or animals. Water pollution occurs when harmful substances enter water bodies such as lakes, rivers, oceans, etc., which can be dissolved, suspended or deposited in the water. The water pollutants include: fertilizers and pesticides from agricultural production; wastewater and waste from food processing; lead, mercury and other heavy metals; Chemical waste from industries. It leads to many consequences. Almost all types of water pollution are harmful to the health of humans, animals and plants. Heavy metals from industrial processes can accumulate in nearby lakes and rivers. They are toxic to marine organisms such as fish and shellfish, and subsequently to those who eat them. Sulfate particles from acid rain can harm the health of organisms in rivers and lakes. And many consequences more. How to solve this problem? We can treat waste water properly, lractice green agriculture, have law and policy against water pollution, treat Industrial wastewater,......This is my talking aboute water pollution. Noticing the peach buds slightly blossoming, getting the spring rain clang to the clothes, smelling the incense in the air, which all signal to the fact that Tet has already arrived. Tet is always considered as the most expectant opportunity to gather up beside your beloved ones, to enjoy the full emotion that “I am now in my home”. The Tet holidays before I was 18 suddenly rush into my mind, and I want to write about those nonreturnable Tets. Would you feel eager and distinctive if you could celebrate Tet in both Northern and Southern ways even you were living in the North? That was exactly how I experienced Tet holiday in my family because my grandfather comes from the South. A small apricot blossom tree, a lovely peach blossom one and a kumquat tree laden with fruits, my house was full of Spring’s colors! I felt as if the living room were absolutely occupied by the Spring’s vitality and energy. To be more important, the best thing of those Tet holidays was that my family still had enough members as I defaulted it must be: my grandparents, my aunt, my parents, my older brother, my younger brother, my dog and me. Hastily preparing food for Tet, my mum spent all of her day considering and listing everything necessary. Re-decorating the house was the my brother’s and my task. My dad took in charge of cooking while my grandparents would like to direct how the altar should be displayed. Together preparing for Tet, I used to experience Tet with its full meaning of “Tet doan vien” (Tet – Family Reunion).

I like football, whether it is played between two international teams or local teams, as long as the teams give their best in the field. The sporting event, I would like to talk about, was a national club football tournament of my country that takes place every year.
Anyway, the sporting event took place about 5 years ago, when two of the best football clubs of my country clashed against each other in a final match of the national football tournament. The two arch-rival teams had already clashed against each other in the past, and their number of wins was pretty much the same throughout the history of their clash, especially, in this tournament. So, essentially, nobody really knew which team was favourite to win the final.
But, when the game actually started, all the supporters of both the teams were screaming and encouraging their respective team as if they were bound to win. As a supporter, I also wanted my team to win at all costs. Anyway, both teams were playing very “rough and tough” football that led to some unwanted “fouls” and some unfortunate “fistfight”.
The game continued scoreless up until the half time interval, but as the second half of the game started, the intensity of the game increased. In the meanwhile, I was getting nervous in the stadium because my team wasn’t exactly playing up to our expectation. In fact, my team was lucky to survive a few scoring chances from the opponent team. Then, suddenly, the ball was passed to the main “striker” of my favourite team from nowhere, and a goal was scored by my team, leaving the supporters of my team completely ecstatic and crazy with the feeling of a possible victory. And, in the end, we were indeed the victorious team.
Anyway, I consider this sporting event to be interesting because we never know which team is going to win. Besides, I consider this sporting event exciting also because it attracts supporters from all over my country. Finally, it is interesting also because no other sporting event makes us as emotional as this one.

I took part in my School Sports Day last year. It was a great event for students who like sports. I like sports, especially badminton so I really excited about that event. Every afternoon I always played badminton with my friends. On the School Sports Day, I was not shy or worried much because I practiced playing badminton a lot. I tried my best at the event and I got the bronze medal! I was very suprised and happy. That was one of the best event I've ever joined in my life!!!

TOPIC 1:
Bat Trang Porcelain Village is a traditional pottery-making village, which is located in the Northern of the Red River, Bat Trang town, Gia Lam district, Ha Noi. The pottery here is made of a special kind of clay – the white clay.
The craftsmen only use their hands to knead the clay into the shape of the bowl, flower vase, etc. Then, they draw lively pictures or patterns on the products and glaze them. After that, these kneaded-clays will be put into the kiln for heating.
The pottery products of Bat Trang Porcelain Village are always famous for the skillfulness, subtleness and the diversity of product’s shapes such as small bowls, large bowls, flower vases, pots, thuribles, etc. Especially, all the handicrafts of this pottery-making village are waterproof and fade-resistant.
The glaze of Bat Trang is also very subtle and unique with the secret recipe, which is handed down from generation to generation. Those values have created such an irresistible attraction and appealing feature for Bat Trang village. This is the reason why this traditional handicraft village can attract so many tourists as well.
The party I'd like to describe is the New Year eve party that I attended 2 years back. Our University friends invited me to join the party and I had to contribute some amount for that. The party held at a 3-star hotel where the teachers, students and their relatives attended.
On the New Year eve, one of my friends gave me a call and then I picked up a taxi to reach the hotel. The name of the hotel was (..say a name you prefer...) and it was a beautiful hotel in our city. After I reach the hotel I found that it has been gorgeously decorated with lights. Our party was on the 2nd floor and I found most of my friends and some of the teachers already enjoying the party.
A local music band was singing and people were wearing mostly party dresses. We enjoyed the party a lot and ate several local and foreign dishes. We started counting down the time at 11:59 pm and when the clock ticked at 12:00, we started shouting with the New Year wishes. We stayed at the party till 2.00 am and all those time we enjoyed our time every way possible.

On the big day, I had made good preparations for it at least mentally. But it was still a challenge for me and I was the last one to reach the finishing line.
This experience had a great influence on me: it aroused my interest in sports and I spend more time doing exercise now
