At school, I study many subjects such as Math, Literature, Art, Music... but I like English best. English is my favourite subject because of the following reasons. Firstly, English is a compulsory subject that I need to learn. If I don't learn it, I won't be able to study in upper class. Secondly, English is very interesting. There are lots of beautiful songs, good stories... written in English. Last but not least, English is an international language. It is spoken by many people all over the world. By learning English well, I can do a lot of things: having a good job in the future, travelling around the world, communicating with people easily... In short, I love Engish very much and I will try my best to improve my Engish.

Favourite kind of music:
Most people like music and so do I. I like music because it is my favourite entertainment in my free time. Moreover, music is good for my spiritual relaxation and helps release my work-related stress. My favourite music genre/style is POP due to four reasons.
Firstly, I am most spiritually relaxed by listening to POP music as it makes me feel excited and comfortable. For this reason, I listen to it every afternoon.
Secondly, it makes me more positive and active so that I can do my works better.
Thirdly, by sharing the common interest in POP music, I can make a lot of fiends around the worlds without the need of speaking their own language.
Finally, I believe that listening to POP music makes me smarter in my daily activities.
Different people have different taste in music but I think POP music is the most popular and has the largest number of fans. In America, Taylor Swift is the top POP singers with thousands of followers including me. Nevertheless, there are so many kinds of music in this world and I believe all of them are good in bringing people closer and making people love their lives even more.

Everybody has his or her own hobby. My favourite hobby is reading. I enjoy reading a book when I am free. I started to get the hobby from my father when I was four years old. My father is a researcher so he has a great collection of books on many fields: literature, science, art,…
I enjoy reading because it allows me to explore my own imaginative world. I keep the hobby of reading at least one hour every day. I usually read books at home, in my own room, at my office or at the local library. On my freetime, I can spend hours reading and thinking about facts described in each kind of books.
My favourite author is J.K.Rowling who wrote world-famous books “ Harry Potter”.
For me a good book is not only a true companion but also a well-experienced teacher guiding me through my life. There are a lot of advantages of reading. Reading makes me feel relaxed and calm. It has the miracle to relieve my suffering and my hardship and reveal to me strange and new horizons. I can also learn new vocabularies and grammars. So I can further improve my English. Moreover, it gives me unlimited imaginations. I can learn about different cultures of other countries in the world, too.
Instead of indulging myself in futile entertainments, I am often keen on reading books, which broadens my mind and improves my knowledge.
In a few words, the reading of books contributes to the moral and intellectual formation of a man. I love reading and I love books. I will collect more and more books and I wish I can write my own books in the future.

Topic 3 :
I would like to talk about the Lunar New Year festival, also known as the Tet holiday, which is the occasion expected the most by Vietnamese people every year. The festival usually lasts for around 3-4 days, and it takes place when a new year comes according to the lunar calendar.
The Lunar New Year festival takes place because it is one of the most well-known traditions of Vietnam. Our people have been celebrating this occasion for thousands of years, and although there has been some recent argument about whether we should stop celebrating this festival, I do not think this activity will come to an end soon, at least not in the short term.
There are some common things that people do during this festival. Perhaps the most important thing is that people who work and study in big cities would go back to their hometown to celebrate the new year with their families and relatives. The new year festival is one of very few occasions that families can gather together, so it is easy to understand why everyone in Vietnam expects this festival so much. Another thing that we usually do is that we give children some “lucky money” with the hope that it will bring fortune to those kids. We also have some other activities such as making “chung” cake, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on.
The new year festival is so important to me and also to all Vietnamese citizens. The reason is because we get more days off from work and study, and therefore we have more time to spend with our families and our loved ones. It is also a great time to think about what we have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the upcoming year.

1. Talk about your hometown
I was born in a quiet village where the influence of the city is not much.
It is a small village with a population of about two thousand people. It is a very good place for relaxation indeed. In my village, people live very close to each another. The people are very simple in thought and behavior. Therefore they are friendly and helpful . So, the crimes of the city are almost unknown in my village. The people work together and live in peace. I love them. My village is surrounded by paddy-fields and a river. All these add great beauty and variety to my village scene. Although I do not like growing rice, but I really like the fields. It makes me have a good mood, a peace mood and a relaxed mood. Now I am living in Hanoi capital. I want to come back my hometown very much. Living among such friendly and simple people, in such a quiet village, is indeed a real pleasure. 2. Talk about your dream town New York City: Generally I am starting to like this city more everyday, normally I always liked it. The only thing is, I wish it had the cityscape of Hong Kong with the sea of post modern buildings everywhere. The city is beautiful based off potential and history. The people are hospitable, and I feel like I'm at home when I'm there. People of all kinds of backgrounds, they should just label the city the capital of the world, everyone can call this city home. But just the biggest drawback for me is that my preference in architecture sets me more into waking up everyday and wanting to admire a sea of moder/post modern buildings in the skyline. Also the fact that I don't want to end up where most people dream of being- I like to be somewhere where I can feel like my preference in a city is a unique attribute to my needs, I kind of feel like a bandwagoner even talking about NYC for some reason, like it's name alone just brings up so much influence over the world. Interesting question! It is changing over time in my case. At first I was in love in America and I envisioned my life there. But I don't think it can provide me as much opportunities as I would love. At this point, I am looking more for possibilities that city can offer me than something else. And I am not talking about salaries or stability, I am thinking about opportunities to learn and improve myself. That's what I think should be our focus in twenties, to develop our potential so that we are fully satisfied once we decide to start a family and change our priorities. But, just to answer the question, if I have to choose, I would probably pick San Francisco. I've never been there, in USA in general, but I always find it very interesting. The whole West Coast seems magical to me, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and colorful Victorian houses. The city is also very youthful and open minded, perfect for life of twenty-something. And the most important part, it provides so much opportunities for work, especially in the area I am interested in, so it seems like a perfect choice!

- There is a white three-storey building, surrounded by greenery, located at Simei Town Central. That is Simei Primary School. That is also the place where I have schooled for the last five years or so.
My school uniform is white. The boys wear a white shirt and white shorts while the girls wear a white blouse and skirt. The uniform must always be worn with the school badge which bears our school motto “Nothing without labor”. It means that we must be willing to work to get our reward. We are also taught to be honest and polite all the time.
Most of the teachers in my school are just and kind. However, there are some teachers who show favoritism. As a result, the students who are favored by these teachers are very proud and like to bully the others. In general, however, we all treat one another like siblings and live in harmony.
I am sad that I will have to leave my school at the end of this year. It has given me knowledge, friends and happy moments. I will always remember my school and the fond memories it holds. - I live in a house in Hanoi. The house is in a small and quiet street in Cau Giay district of Hanoi. It takes about half an hour to go to the city center. The house was built 5 years ago. It isn't a big house and has two floors.
In my house there are 4 main rooms: a living room, a dining rooms, two bedrooms. Besides, we have a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet.
We have a little but pretty garden; my family often spend our free time there to grow plant and vegetables. Next to the garden there is a small yard where my children often play after school.
In my house, I like the living room is my favorite one. This room was painted light green, so we feel very pleasant. In this room, there is a tea table, a sofa and a television. On the wall there is a couple of oil paintings. After dinner, our family often spend time together talking to each other or watching a favorite TV program. We often receive our guests in this room. I love my house. Everyday when I come back home from work, I have a warm feeling of being together with my whole family
My favourite activity which I like to take part in is visiting parks, fields, playgrounds and open spaces with my close friends. I do it in one of the nearby parks, large playgrounds, botanical gardens, besides a lake or river and in any similar natural open spaces. Sometimes I invite friends to come to such a place which is nearby my home or sometimes we do it in the different parts of the city we live in.
I often take my bicycle and use it as my transportation to reach those places. I cannot do it daily but I gather with my friends usually once or twice in a week. We go to the park or near a river, enjoy our time, gossip on different topics, talk about movies and books, enjoy our friends’ companion and so some short of physical exercises like walking, swimming, running or cycling.
I really like to spend time with my friends as they are very close to me and they are very good friends of mine. I like their companionship as we have lots of common interests. We learn things from each other and value our friendship. Moreover, we stay inside the room; be it a house, university, office or other places, and this activity lets us spend time close to nature and in a healthy and open environment. The open spaces give fresh air, eradicates our boredom and fatigue, and it is really refreshing to do some short of outdoor activities in the evening. For all these reasons, I like this outdoor activity more than any other outdoor activity I have.
