  Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. At Tet, spring fairs are organized, streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are crowded with people shopping for Tet. At home, every is tidied, special food is cooked, offerings of food, fresh water, flowers and betel are made on the family altar with burning joss- sks scenting the air. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year.

   I have a memorable childhood which has many experiences. One of the experiences I remember most is the first time I was invited to a birthday party. I was a 6-year-old girl and I had a bestfriend whose name is Lisa. We were very close and seemed we couldn’t live without each other until her birhtday. It was a beautiful morning when Lisa invited me to her birthday party and had no idea about how great her party would be if she didn’t ask me to attend. I was very happy and decided to make my bestfriend surprise by giving her a puppy as a present. Lisa didn’t dog or any animal but I almost forgot about that. I was confident to give her my present in her birthday and immediately realized that she didn’t my little dog which I myself chose to buy 3 days ago. While the party was going on, I stood in a corner of the room and watched how much she loved other normal presents such as teddy bear, dolls or crayons. I felt dissapointed but that was not the worst thing. About 20 mintues later, Lisa’s father gave a sign that was the time to taking out a birthday cake. It was the biggest birthday cake I had ever seen. The light went off. As soon as it went on, somebody screamed “It’s a puppy in the cake”. Everyone was surprise and they recognized that was my puppy. They looked at the puppy and then looked at me. I glanced to Lisa. She said nothing and about to cried. I was very confused and ashamed. I carried my puppy, said sorry to Lisa and ran out of the party. I couldn’t believe that I had just broken my bestfriend’s birthday cake because of a silly decision. I learned that never bring any animal with me to a party, especially bestfriend’s birthday party. It’s an experience that I won’t forget for the rest of my life. Luckily Lisa forgave me and we are still friend up to now. She always reminded me about her 6th birthday and we laughed a lot. 

   
Dịch: Tôi có một tuổi thơ đáng nhớ với rất nhiều kỷ niệm. Một trong những kỷ niệm mà tôi nhớ nhất là lần đầu tiên tôi được mời đến dự tiệc sinh nhật. Lúc đó tôi là một cô bé 6 tuổi và tôi có một người bạn thân tên là Lisa. Chúng tôi rất thân thiết và dường như không thể sống thiếu nhau cho đến hôm sinh nhật của cô ấy. Đó là một buổi sáng đẹp trời khi Lisa mời tôi đến bữa tiệc sinh nhật của cô ấy và không hề biết rằng bữa tiệc sẽ tuyệt ra sao nếu cô ấy không mời tôi đến. Tôi rất vui và quyết định làm bạn thân của mình ngạc nhiên bằng cách tặng cho cô ấy một con cún con. Lisa không thích chó hay bất kì loài động vật nào nhưng tôi đã quên mất điều đó. Tôi rất tự tin tặng cho cô ấy món quà vào hôm sinh nhật và ngay lập tức nhận ra rằng cô ấy không thích con chó mà tôi đích thân chọn mua 3 ngày trước. Trong khi bữa tiệc diễn ra, tôi đứng ở góc phòng và quan sát cô ấy yêu quý những món quà bình thường như gấu bông, búp bê hoặc hộp màu đến bao nhiêu. Tôi cảm thấy rất thất vọng nhưng đó vẫn chưa phải là điều tệ nhất. Khoảng 20 phút sau, bố của Lisa ra hiệu đã đến giờ mang bánh kem ra. Đó là chiếc bánh kem to nhất mà tôi từng thấy. Đèn tắt. Ngay khi nó bật sáng trở lại thì ai đó la lớn “Con chó ngồi trên bánh kem rồi kìa”. Mọi người rất ngạc nhiên và họ nhận ra đó là con chó con của tôi. Họ nhìn con chó con rồi nhìn sang tôi. Tôi lước nhìn Lisa. Cô ấy không nói gì cả và gần như sắp khóc. Tôi rất bối rối và xấu hổ. Tôi ôm lấy con chó, xin lỗi Lisa và chạy thật nhanh khỏi bữa tiệc. Không thể tin nổi là tôi vừa mới phá tan nát chiếc bánh sinh nhật của bạn thân chỉ vì một quyết định ngu ngốc. Tôi đã học được rằng không bao giờ mang theo bất kì một động vật nào với mình tới các bữa tiệc, đặc biệt là tiệc sinh nhật bạn thân. Đó là một kỷ niệm mà tôi không bao giờ có thể quên được trong suốt phần đời còn lại. May mắn thay Lisa đã tha thứ cho tôi và cho đến bây giờ chúng tôi vẫn là bạn bè. Cô ấy hay nhắc tôi về chuyện xảy ra ở bữa tiệc sinh nhật lần thứ 6 ấy và chúng tôi cùng cười to.

Around the world there are many cuisine but I still spaghetti the most. The main ingredients to make spaghetti are noodles, beef and tomatoes. Besides, we can add onion, carrot, bean or other kind of vegetable. At weekends, my mother and I usually go to the market, buy goods and cook spaghetti for my family instead of traditional dishes. It’s easy to cook this food. All we have to do are boiling noodles, chopping beef and making a good sauce of tomatoes. There is a tip for a perfect sauce is adding a slice of lemon into it. If there is a need of vegetable, It can be served with carrot and peas. Spaghetti supplies high nutrients and several vitamins, which good for your health especially for diet people. Moreover, spaghetti is famous for its delicious taste and convenience as fast food. It’s known as typical traditional food of Italy. Although spaghetti originate from Europe, it’s more widespread in Asia specifically Vietnam. Nowadays, It is popular food not only in Italy but also in other countries.
