I have just returned from a 1-week holiday with my friends in Da Nang and Quang Ngai. We stayed most of the time in Da Nang. Then we spent the last few nights in a very picturesque and historic place called Hoi An Old Town. We had such a relaxing time on our holiday.  We enjoyed some wonderful local food. It’s really delicous. The activities we enjoyed on holiday were walking, swimming and go out at night. The water is so fresh and clean, and the temperature is just refreshing - not too hot and not too cold. We went hiking in the mountains nearly for some days, which was very good for our fitness. I really enjoyed this holiday. I loved the fresh air and the scenery, and of course the food.  I will certainly be going back there another year, as I think it's one of my favourite parts of the world.

1.Trong gia đình, người tôi yêu mến và kính trọng nhất là bà nội tôi.

Năm nay, đã ngoài bảy mươi tuổi nhưng bà còn rất khoẻ. Da bà nhăn nheo, ngăm đen. Tôi vẫn đùa, đấy là chứng tích của thời gian. Khác với những người bà cùng tuổi, bà tôi có mái tóc đen, dài, lúc nào cũng được búi gọn sau gáy. Vầng trán cao, đôi mắt to đã có phần mờ đục. Đặc biệt nụ cười với hàm răng nhuộm đen làm bà thêm phúc hậu. Đôi bàn tay xương xương với những vết chai sần vì làm lụng vất vả. Bà ăn mặc rất giản dị, nhiều khi chỉ là những bộ đồ nâu đã cũ. Mỗi khi mẹ tôi biếu tiền để mua quần áo, bà thường lắc đầu và bảo: "Mẹ già rồi, không cần nhiều quần áo, con để tiền đó lo cho bọn trẻ".

Bà nội tôi rất thích chăm sóc cây xanh. Sáng sáng, bà thường tự tay tưới tắm và bắt sâu cho cây. Một lần, cái Anh, em họ tôi hỏi bà: "Bà ơi, tại sao bà quý những cái cây này thế. Có khi nào bà yêu chúng hơn bọn cháu không?". Bà nhìn chúng tôi, bảo: "Sao thế được, tất nhiên là bà phải yêu các cháu bà hơn rồi. Những cái cây này chỉ là thú vui của bà thôi. Đây là những cái cây ông để lại khi mất. Bà thay ông chăm sóc chúng".

Bà rất yêu chúng tôi. Hồi tôi còn bé, bà đã thay mẹ, chăm bằm tôi từng li từng tí. Hằng đêm, bà đưa tôi vào giấc ngủ qua những khúc hát ru. Mỏi lần tôi ốm, bà xuống chăm nom tôi để mẹ đi làm. Bà ngồi bên giường, dỗ dành, đút cho tôi từng thìa cháo nhỏ. Suốt những năm tuổi thơ, tôi đã lớn lên trong vòng tay yêu thương của bà. Sau này, khi không còn ở bên tôi thường xuyên nữa nhưng cứ mỗi lần xuống nhà tôi chơi, bà lại mang rất nhiều quà quê lên cho tôi và hàng xóm láng giềng. Ai cũng yêu quý và kính nể bà.

Bà rất nhân hậu. Có lần, nhìn thấy một em bé ăn xin từ xa, bà vội bước lại cho bé tiền và bảo bé đi mua gì ăn cho đỡ đói. Đợi em đi khỏi, bà nói với tôi: "Cháu đã nhìn thấy em đó chưa? Bà đoán chắc em bé đó chỉ tầm tuổi cháu thôi, thế mà đã phải ra đường ăn xin. Thật tội nghiệp. Nếu từ nay về sau, cháu gặp ai cơ nhỡ, khó khán, cháu nhớ giúp người ta. Họ cũng là người như chúng ta, chẳng qua cuộc sống của họ không được may mắn, cháu không bao giờ được kì thị, chế giễu người ta".

Vì rất yêu quý bà nên tôi rất thích được về quê. Tôi chỉ mong luôn được gặp bà, được nghe những câu chuyện cổ tích của bà, được nằm trong lòng bà, thiu thiu ngủ qua tiếng ru à ơi của bà.

Tôi rất yêu bà, Tôi mong sẽ không bao giờ phải xa bà.

I came to Hanoi on an autumn day, and my first feeling was the feeling of a peaceful space, not in Ho Chi Minh City. That feeling was overwhelming all my soul when I was walking along Nguyen Du Street and enjoying the Milk flower. Why was it so beautiful here? In the early winter night, in slightly cold spread hoarfrost, sitting on the bank of Thien Quang Lake, whether at the other side, I still smelt its perfume. I walked along the street and dropped myself in a sweet smell of Milk flower, the wind blew my hair, and I felt so great.

 Milk flower on the streets of Hanoi goes deeply inside the memories of Hanoi people and all visistors who have come to Hanoi. It also goes into the music, the poetry, movies. Those are some good ways to introduce Milk flower to everybody. For me, means of communication such as internet or TV are the best ways to introduce Milk flower for all over the world. It is simple when everyone looks at all wonderful pictures or images of Milk flower, they will want to come and enjoy it. In Japan, they have cherry blossom, in Netherlands, they have tulip…How can we know about it? That is all thanks to means of communication. We must let them know that in Hanoi, we have Milk flower. Therefore, the things we need to do now are we should have a website about Milk Flower with pictures, clips, songs, poetry in many languages (if we can)… or we can hold more activities which relate to Milk flower. We must have some more activities to advertise this kind of flower. That was what I think when I saw Milk flower for the first time.

 I love Hanoi. I love the early cold winter nights with Milk flower’s smell. I hope Milk flowers will be grown more on Hanoi streets. Milk flower is a precious gift that nature gives to us, especially to Hanoi, our beloved capital.

Amidst the immense mountains and forests of Lam Dong province, Dalat, a beautiful town, captivates all those who have been there once. I am one of those.

Dalat is often called the City of Eternal Spring. Flowers of all colors, with many species, the most numerous of which are orchids. More than anywhere else in Vietnam, Dalat sees flowers vie with one another in blossoming in spring. I used to get up early in the morning on fine days to welcome dawn on the highlands. Opening the windows, I had a breath-taking view of nature, and enjoyed the fragrance of wild flowers carried by the clouds, I felt relieved in my heart.

In the late afternoons, I often reserved for visits to the Valley of Love and Sigh Lake covered with quiet pine forests. Twilight on Dalat also brought many pictures and sensations. As a certain poet said, “Dalat is the city of honeymoon, the city of love”.

After two week is rest in Dalat, my health improved a lot. I think in the very near future Dalat will be Switzerland in the South-East Asia. The wind rustling through the pine forests, the roar of waterfalls, the chirping of birds and the clatter of horse ‘s hooves…all of these unforgettable memories always remain with me.
