(x + 1)^4 - 6(x + 1)^2 - (x^2 - 2)(x^2 + 2)

= (x^2 + 2x + 1)(x^2 + 2x + 1) - 6(x^2 + 2x + 1) - (x^2 - 2)(x^2 + 2)

= x^2.(x^2 + 2x + 1) + 2x.(x^2 + 2x + 1) + x^2 + 2x + 1 - (x^2 - 2)(x^2 + 2)

= x^4 + 2x^3 + x^2 + 2x^3 + 4x^2 + 2x + x^2 + 2x + 1 - 6x^2 - 12x - 6 - x^2 + 2^2

= 4x^3 - 8x - 1

\(=4x^2-20x+25-4x^2-12x\)

=-32x+25
