On Thanksgiving Day, it is traditional to eat a big meal together. Americans eat food that was found here by their ancestors. They usually eat turkey with sweet potatoes, Indian corn bread, and have pumpkin pie for dessert.

Every Thanksgiving Day, a giant parade is held by one of the most famous department stores in New York. It is an annual event. And at the end of the parade, children can even see Santa Claus, who is visiting from the North Pole. Santa Claus is invited to remind children and parent that Christmas is not far away.

A volunteer group came to our little village last month. When they arrived at the end of the path leading to the village, the village, the village children ran after them and we heard their loud songs. On the first day they had a talk with the head of the village in the moring, and later on with the villagers in the evening.

They brought lots of things with them suchs as clothes, food, and school tings. During the daay, they did a lot of different and heipful things for US. They repaired the furniture in our village school and also fixed the houses for elderly people, they dug some new wells so thet we could get more fresh water.
